1974 Porsche 911

1974 Porsche 911 Targa G Series, 2.7FI CIS 110KW Engine, 4 speed, Air Conditioning. Gold/Tan Original. Engine Is original #s in car. New Mexico/Texas all lif, new Mexico clear, clean and open title, miles are "stated" and documented to be 50K original. As you see, this is a project car with all of its parts with exception of seats and targa bar and back glass. Those can be had still on ebay. Those did not get moved for whatever reason. This is a shed find or whatever you want to call it. The backstory is this car was a daily driver since new up until the late 80s. While being a daily driver it was painted black in a pretty "flat rate" attempt to color change it from gold to black with as little disassembly as possible. Keep in mind, these cars had a value of about nothing at that time, so its easy for us to criticize things like that after the fact but few of us would have bought this car in perfect shape in 1985 for any money. Eventually the New Mexico owner parked it at his parents home here in Dallas and was going to "modify" it into a convertible, at least we think. This was around 1988 as best as the dad can remember. Sometime into the early stages of this process, he died, leaving the car at his parents home from the 80s until recent. The parents eventually got tired of it sitting in their garage and put it out in a car port with a cover over it. There it sat until we were asked to help move it when they sold their home after living there 52 years. The car is pretty honest in the photos, its an intense project to be quite descriptive. The engine turns over with battery hooked, seems like it would run if the fuel system was addressed but we have done nothing to it. The clutch seems real good and trans shifts easy through all gears, brakes work and steering just fine. It was running when the father moved it from the garage to the shed some 25+ years ago. None of the wiring was messed with, its all in tact. The floor pan is surprisingly solid, most all of the car is. There is some battery corrosion up front and a little rust here and there, but this is far from a northern car and the issues those will present you under a shinny paint job covering up the sins of the past. This car is what you see. Its a worthy platform to restore, and if you are going down to the tub, its just as much work to do a currently nice car compared to this to get the same results on a total restoration. This can be your dream project, but I say that as you cant be a dreamer to restore any car on a proper level. This is also not a car you can just make a driver out of, its all or nothing I would say. You need to have the labor force, the talent and the management skills needed to do so, and with this one, you will need all of that in your corner. However, the end results of these cars restored now are at prices that were unimaginable when this car was being "worked on" in the 80s. I wont quote them as you know them, but I will say this car is not unrealistic to obtain from me. It needs to go to the proper restoration professional to make it what it should be. The entry level price vs the potential price will justify it. And every year seems to bring more for these cars too. This ad will be put in a few venues, and if you see the price, remember, I am taking offers. I have it in my classic car storage facility inside. It is not exactly in the condition the rest are, so I would like to see it find the right match. You are welcome to come to Dallas and spend a day going over it. I would do this YOURSELF over sending a liaison, just so you are sure you can tackle this one. I will do my best to answer any questions, but make no mistake, this is as is, where is, bring a trailer. Its a project, but the end results are financially impressive for the right person. Shipping also available too of course, and worldwide.
