1999 Porsche 911 Description

I am out of time and over budget in fixing this car, and I've decided to sell it "As Is" so I can move on to the next project. The car passed emissions on June 13th and it has a clear title, but the engine has a rough tick/tap and the car will only start in N-neutral position. Every 50-100 miles ECU two throws up codes “P1539 –camshaft adjustment bank 2 and P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch Fault." The Neutral Safety Switch has been replaced but did not make a difference. Car starts and drives fine, engine pulls strong, and compression for all cylinders shows good and within specs. Transmission is smooth and grips well (fluid was dirty and changed several times...see below).

I've owned the car since March of this year and here are some of the things that have been done since then. Many of the items below were purchased from Porsche Barrier in Bellevue and installed. An itemized invoice will be provided.

- Variable Camshaft Chain Tensioner, Solenoid, Guide rail kit, Camshaft sprocket, Spark plug tubes, O-rings, NGK sparks plugs (with Beru coil packs set-up)-
- Oil Pump, scavenge pump seal
- AOS (Air Oil Separator)
- Brake Booster
- Engine mounts (40k)
- Window regulators - both felt crunchy - both replaced. Smooth action on both sides now.
- Gasket, exhaust, cat to mufler
- Gasket, exhaust manifold to header
- Flush & fill transmission fluid; New Filter & Gasket (sump taken out and cleaned thoroughly)
- Check valves in 2nd Air Injection replaced.
- Radiator Flush & Fill - Pentofrost SF Antifreeze
- Crank Position Sensor
- Neutral Safety Switch
- Coolant Temperature Sensor
- Front hood and back deck struts replaced
- Mann Air Filter
- Oil change & Mann Oil Filter
- Fabspeed Air Intake (the OEM unit is available and will be supplied with the car)

Tires currently on the car – Nitto 555 Extreme ZRUltra high performance in good condition.

Sunroof - works great!

Steering wheel replaced with 3spoke, carbon fiber & leather.

Stereo – Pioneer AVIC-X920BT and a big AMG amplifier in the trunk sound fantastic.

Driver’s seat – repaired with some artistic flair (sewn and a quality Italian leather fixed – nice, sturdy repair!)

Known issues/ Things to be done:

Fuel line replacement – fuel lines were spliced at some point, and a low quality hose was used.I refitted the lines with a high quality (Gates brand) fuel injection hose and used double clamps where space allowed. There are no safety issues in this department, but ideally the two fuel lines should be replaced (Porsche part number 99620126508 and 99620127504).I will supply the diagram.

Rear left strut – is leaking and needs replacement.

Paint – car was resprayed in black, but there was some peeling around the mirrors, front bumper and the engine lid.I’ve touched up those areas and it looks much more presentable now.

Carpet – looks quite good, there is a approx a 2 inch worn spot just under the fuse box.

There are some 3-4 subtle dimples on the hood, likely from someone closing the hood on something placed in the trunk. These are hard to see but I'm providing a side pic above so you can spot them. There is also some delamination around the handles and levers as can be seen in the pics.
Items shipped with the vehicle:

- Camshaft position sensor
- Bag/sack for spare tire and tools
- Good, tested, alternator
- Good, battery, used for testing (fully charged)
- OEM manuals
- One ignition key

All in all, if the engine tick/tap does not bother you too much, and are patient enough to work through some of the issues listed above, this is a great deal.
