2005 Porsche Boxster Description

Listed for Sale is as exceptionally rare and special example of a 2005 Porsche Boxster S. The car is a 987 generation design, which received a brand new $25k OEM Porsche engine toward the end of 2013.

As is well known amongst Porsche enthusiasts, the IMS bearing (intermediate shaft bearing) in Porsches up until quite recently has a small percent chance of failure.

At 46,177 miles, the IMS bearing in this Boxster caused a rattle in the engine.

The result was Sewickley Porsche of Pittsburgh (Official dealer and repair center) replacing the rattling engine with a brand new OEM 3.2 engine with updated larger IMS bearing. Furthermore, the flywheel was replaced along with all fluids and the car was mechanically made new again.

The total cost between what Porsche covered and the owner at the time was in excess of (according to Porsche) $25,000.

Since that time, approximately 17,500 miles have been put on the car at a consistent rate.

This car therefore is nearly new mechanically and with a body that has been immaculately cared for by its owners. All past owners have been previous Porsche owners as well.

The car is also equipped with a substantial number of features and added equipment.

Additional extras include:

Heated Front Seats

19” Carrera Sport Wheels

Sport Steering Wheel

Wheel Caps with Colored Crest

PASM, Porsche Active Suspension Management

Porsche Windstop (Deflector)

Bose Surround Sound System

Remote 6 Disk CD Changer

Self-Dim Mirrors and Rain Sensors

Power Seat Package

Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package

Preferred Package Plus

Arctic Silver Metallic Paint

Sport Shifter (Factory Short Shifter)

Chrome Exhaust Pipe

The car was produced in June of 2005 and significant work done (new engine installed) starting in May of 2013.

If you are looking for a Boxster S that drives and feels like new, this is the best car that can be bought for the money. The recent installation of this engine means that maintenance will be performed according to a two to three year old engine with 17,500 miles on it.

Without a doubt, it is one of the best optioned and best driving Boxster S vehicles in the country.
