1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche Description

This is a superb example of this world-renowned British Marque offered for sale after full mechanical and cosmetic restoration. I have owned and restored numerous high-end classic cars include Concours Champion Jaguars, and I would not have undertaken this project without bringing this beauty back to life properly, with the correct

technicians and experts. I would not bring to market anything less.

This rare Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe (only 1,108 built between 1971 and 1981) was first delivered to San Fransisco, until purchase by the previous Owner in Florida in 1996. The car has lived it's entire life in California and Florida.

I purchased this car last February, after it had been stored in an air-conditioned ballroom of a downtown hotel for 14 years. It had been the personal car of a foreign hotel magnate, who used it on his trips to his U.S. hotel, until his untimely death in 2001. Climate controlled environment, without the sun and rain exposure of South Florida. Hence the superb condition of this fine automobile.

The Corniche is the Series One, steel bumper type. It is fitted with the mighty 6.75L Rolls-Royce V-8 with twin Su Carburetors, paired with theTurbo Hydramatic350 (sourced fromGeneral Motors). The four-wheelindependent suspensionwithcoil springsisaugmented with a hydraulic self-levelling system (using the same system as did Citroën, but without pneumatic springs, and with the hydraulic components built under licence by Rolls-Royce), on the rear wheels only. Four wheel ventilateddisc brakesare provided. The stunning coachwork is by H.J. Mulliner Park Ward of London.

The strong V-8 runs out smoothly, revs smooth and strong and maintains great oil pressure.

All gauges, switches and lights work properly. Please see the attached videos showing the operation and driving of the car.

This is stunning surviving example of this classic. It is all original, showing very little wear from its 80,000+ miles.

The paint and body are excellent, no scratches or dings. The interior, hood and boot are also in great shape. The Everflex roof is in like-new condition - Remarkable!

The car includes original hardcover Owner's books and spare keys!

REPAIRS UNDERTAKEN:

Repaired all dings and scratches onbody and in paint. Repainted rear boot lid due tohaving been keyed on rear of boot. Clay-sanded and buffed entire car. COST OF BODYWORK AND PAINT, $4,500.00.

Interior cleaned and fully detailed interior andapplied Hyde Food to all leathers. Cleaned all carpets. I do have all four original thick, richWilton Woolovercarpets in deep red with the car. They arein superbcondition.
