Rare 1991 Bentley TURBO R , only 83k orig mi, runs great NO RESERVE ($200k MSRP)
1891 Bentley Turbo R Description
Up for bidding is a classic 1991 Bentley Turbo R with only 83,000 ORIGINAL miles. When this car was new, it cost over $200,000.00 to drive out of the showroom, and it's easy to see why. Please do some internet research on the rarity of this car, and check the NADA blue book yourself to verify it's current value. If you don't know how special Turbo R's are, or don't know just where this car fits in the Bentley history, you'll be pleasantly surprised. This car was a very special limited production model for Bentley, and is one of the most sought after models ever made.
This car, like all Bentley's, was literally hand made, with Bentley using the strongest body steel in the world. The interior is in almost showroom condition, looks absolutely stunning, and truly belongs in a museum. The leather and wood grain are priceless quality and luxury. While the dash and console are filled with Swiss timepiece quality gauges and gadgets. In over 100 years of car making, this model is also one of the fastest Bentley's ever made, and was the fastest at the time. Though it weighs in at 6000 lbs, it will pick up and move, being designed to actually go from 0-60 in under 7 seconds, and cruise at 140mph.
The car runs well and rides smooth & straight, like a Bentley should. The tires are good, and it has a new battery too. It hasn't been driven very much in the last few years, just Sunday drives, and else just taking up garage space. The car is in excellent mechanical shape, and you can certainly drive this home to anywhere in the USA with no worries.
A couple of years ago, this car was an absolutely babied, pristine, Bentley. Sadly, it was hit in the rear, and the owner just collected from his insurance company and decided to sell it. There is no frame damage at all, just the rear bumper and rear quarter panels got tweaked. We bought it just so we could tool around in a Bentley for a while, before we die, and we have thoroughly enjoyed it just as it is. It is an everyday driver if you want, as we kind of used it, and doesn't look all that bad as is. Else, with a little work, you can fix it all up and have yourself a really perfect classic Bentley. It comes with a clean, clear, Michigan title, that's in my name.
The car is in great shape from the rear window forward. The grill and bumper are fine, all 4 chrome Bentley wheels shine bright, and the trunk lid is both undamaged and lines up perfectly on all sides. There is no frame damage, and all of the glass is good. All of the doors work perfectly. The rear quarter has been straightened some, but obviously needs to be finished. The rear bumper was crunched, and was replaced with an oversized Mercury Marquis bumper, just to be legal here in Michigan. The bumper was bolted directly to the stock mounts, so replacement with the correct bumper would be an easy 2 bolt, 5 minute job. After the right rear quarter dent was pulled out some, it was spray painted over for weather protection. Otherwise, all of the paint is still original and intact.
All of the gauges, power accessories, windows, locks, cruise, etc. work as they should. All of the leather, carpet, leather headliner, and woodworking looks great, and the back seat looks as if it was never used. The radio isn't working, as when the car was at the towing yard after the accident, someone cleaned the trunk completely out, which included the CD changer and amplifier. I assume that radio's issue is related to that. Bentley's share many parts with Rolls Royce, and many of the same parts are used for years and years in many different models. This same basic engine, for example, has been used for literally decades, making parts readily available. I have no spare parts to include, you just get what you see in the pictures.
We realize that this is a special and somewhat odd opportunity to own a Bentley. Accordingly, we have started the bidding well below NADA Blue Book, to give any buyers plenty of wiggle room.
We have described the car as honestly as possible. The car is very solid, and runs well. It is a 25 year old car, so not everything is showroom perfect. Someone could easily part this beauty out and make money. The turbo engine, drive train, and mint interior, alone, would more than recoup your investment. This is not some ghetto cruiser, but a fine high end car that got bruised a little.
This is a NO RESERVE auction.I have 100% LIFETIME feedback as a seller, so no worries here. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding, and please have your funds available to complete the sale before you bid.
