’71 MGB-GT Aluminum Hood
1971 MG MGB GT Description
I bought this very nice B GT several months ago to build the B I couldn’t afford back in the day. I’m 65. Since then I found and purchased a newer lower mileage B GT. The wife says one has to go. A 3 owner car, this is an older restoration in the 2000s by the original owner. During the restoration it was repainted the original Blaze Red. The paint shines and looks good at 10 feet. It is an amateur job and is starting to crack in places. The body is rust free with original floors. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration. It runs strong with good oil pressure and no smoke although there is a slight oil leak. Within the past year the previous owner replaced the clutch (clutch disc, cover and throw out bearing). Also he fitted a new clutch master and slave cylinder with a stainless flex line. All new brakes including pads, rotors, master cylinder and stainless flex lines were installed. The r/ wiper wheel box was recently replaced. A new single 12 volt battery was installed along with a Moss battery box insert on the left side. I wired a lead to the battery terminals for easy charging (see pictures). The fuel tank and pump were recently replaced. The front and rear suspension has been rebuilt with new bushings and rear springs. The interior is very good. The seats and dash are solid with no cracks or splitting seams. The carpets are nice with no wear noticeable. A modern radio with Bluetooth and USB is installed. I have the original and it is included in the sale. The ignition switch is new with 2 keys. I have the rear hatch key but no door keys. Everything works. The bumper over riders have been removed for a cleaner look but are included in the sale.
