1948 MG T-Series leather Description
You are bidding on a 1948 MGTC! One of the last before the change over to the MGTD. This is the TC you've been looking for! Heavily optioned, correct original RH & LH outside mirrors, painted Emgee Red with a lovely tan leather interior. Upgraded book matched burled walnut dash, Motolita steering wheel, upgraded lighting. All instruments in excellent working order(even the electric clock) Many mechanical upgrades such as the rare Australean steerig box, 4.55 rear end conversion with recalibrated speedo. 5 new wire wheels, tubes and Firestone tires. Luggage rack.
The car was driven to shows within 200 mile radius of Nashville and trailered to longer distances (since I have to work for a living, time constraints). The car has no issues that I know of. This is not a car that will require work, just drive and enjoy. Trying to find new homes for most of my British Classic Iron. The odometer shows 250 miles placed on the car since recalibration for the rear end conversion. I do not have any idea of actual mileage since restoration.
Southeastern MGT Register GOF XIV 2007 1st place
GOF South XLII 2008 1st place
GOF MKXV 2009 2nd place
Springtime in Smokies MGT series 2nd in class
British motorcar Day Rome Ga 2008 2nd in class
Nashville British Car Show Brits at the Parthenon
2011 2nd T series
2012 2nd T series
2013 1st T series
I replaced the rear springs in 2007, purchased the front springs at that time and not needed so they come with the car. All parts removed to upgrade will be with the car. Look at the pics which reveal the level of work done on this car. The top and side curtains are in excellent condition along with a tonneau cover.
This car is ready to enjoy and show. Excellent driver, not a trailer queen.
This car is advertised in other venues and the auction is subject to end at any time.
