Unmodified 2014 Scion FR-S 6MT Looking for Mechanically Inclined Owner
2014 Scion FR-S Base Description
I'm looking for a car enthusiast or other knowledgeable car person to sell this to as these cars do not lead trouble free existences. Happy to answer questions about it, the car's history is an open book to prospective buyers. You may find another that has less issues listed, but that doesn't mean they aren't present.
Extensive--over 100--photos detailing condition, tried to catch all of the undesirable bits too, take a look!
All maintenance and repair records since new
Honestly I've been told by dealership employees that they don't see many FR-S in this good of condition--I wasn't even fishing for compliments, which I find a little surprising since it does have minor defects.
As I'm looking for a new owner knowledgeable about cars I'm going to list P&Cons specific to this FR-S not FR-S in general.
Pros:
-Never tracked
-Not a drift car
-One--excessively detail oriented--owner (as you'll see in the records the shops hate me)
-Many common FR-S issues addressed (e.g. rear seat rattle, condensation in tail-lights)
-Extensive maintenance and repair records since new
-Good driver condition
-Not grandma driven but definitely babied for a sports car (I read these engines don't like to hang out near redline, so it doesn't, I set the beeper at 5k so I wouldn't keep it up there long)
-Completely unmodified
-Fog lights (honestly they're not very good)
-Armrest (also not that great)
-Spoiler (awesome)
-Price lowered so you can pick your own rubber instead of buying it for more with cheap nonsense wrapping the rims
-Transmission and differential fluid replaced since the stock stuff is bunk on these
-Detailed multiple times
-Alignment done regularly (Can get it done again after new owner puts tires on)
Cons:
-Common FR-S issues (e.g. squeaky fuel pump, replaced once but now Toyota says it's normal)
-Minor door dings, rock chips, and scratches (detailed in photos, except it was hard to get some of the door dings)
-Curb rash, and the bottom of the front bumper is rough (it's a low car; it'll happen again)
-Driver side fender replaced (old lady at 2mph in parking lot, photo provided)
-Rear bumper and bumper support replaced (bumped twice on the driver side corner, nothing major, photo provided of the worse time, assured repeatedly that there was no important damage, all fixed up)
-Relatively fresh paint on front bumper, hood, fenders, and rear bumper (think you could have figured that out if I didn't say it? I made them WORK for that color match--wasn't afraid to say it wasn't good enough..many..many..many times)
-Clutch slave cylinder may be leaking (first the dealer says it is but then says it isn't)
-Some interior wear, mostly on driver side, only stained on the back of the rear seat in the trunk (I think that might come out)
Feel free to email or text me with questions, if want to come see it in person, have a mechanic of your choice check it out at your expense, or if you want to try to haggle--I'll budge some, but keep in mind this car was 30k two and a half years ago: my honesty has to be worth something right? :P I prefer not to talk on the phone unless you absolutely need to in order to be sure this is legit, in which case do call because I'd like to get this sold.
So begins the stream of WU scams and "military people" who are "deployed" right now but can have their "shipping agent" look at it.
