2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-HHertz "Rent-A-Racer
Number #368 of only 500 built.
The first Mustang bodied Shelby in 36 years! Certainly these will appreciate and will hold a significant position in the history of Shelby automobiles. The low reserve on this Shelby makes it the most affordable GT-H available.
40th Anniversary to the successful, original "Rent-a-Racer" Shelby GT350H of 1966.
All 500 cars in 2006 were finished in the iconic Hertz black with gold LeMans stripes design.
Included are all the documents from the Hertz Corporation and Shelby Automobiles including invoices, build sheets etc.
The special 40th anniversary badging, CSM matching key fob, and Shelby car cover are also included.
Being an ex-rental, it has a few warts and blems on the paint, but nothing extreme. The leather seats, carpet, headliner are all in excellent condition. All electronics work, and still retains the Sirius Satellite controller pod. The Hertz car IQ is still under dash (not functional). Unique as Hertz Corp would remove those prior to retail sale.
It was rented out of PHX (Phoenix airport), and I am the third owner. (we've owned it since Jan 2012), I tracked down the first retail owner (after it exited the rental program), and asked him about the report, to which he replied he made an insurance claim on the repair after he backed into the door and fender with his truck, and had the door skin and fender replaced and repainted under his insurance (hence the minor incident report, non structural). Put it up on a rack, and all factory welds and pinch points are perfect and intact.

In 1966, you could walk into a Hertz Rental Car agency and drive away in a Shelby G.T.350H "Rent-a-Racer." It offered tire-shredding race car performance in a rental car, and when you were done, you simply returned it to Hertz. For 2006, Ford, Shelby and Hertz had teamed up again to create a brand new "Rent-A-Racer," the Shelby GT-H.

Reminiscent of the original, the 2006 GT-H featured the same black-and-gold paint scheme that made the G.T.350H so striking. Other unique features included a special hood with hood pins, an aluminum grille, GT-CS style front fascia, unique wheels and Shelby GT-H & Hertz badging.

The Ford Racing FR1 Power Pack with a cold-air intake, muffler set and a unique X-pipe adds 25 additional horsepower (for a total of 325) and 10 extra foot-pounds of torque (now up to 320). Ford Racing's FR3 Handling Pack is also part of the equation, with specially tuned dampers, lowering springs, thicker sway bars and a strut tower brace.

Only 500 of these very special Shelbys were built, and every one went exclusively to Hertz rental car agencies as part of their “Fun Collection.”
