2005 Subaru Forester XT Description

Selling my 2005 Forester XT Automatic. I have a dealer license and found this gem at the Omaha Manheim auction. I researched the carfax and found it to be a 4 owner. It has around 95k miles. The interior is in excellent condition with some cracking on drivers seat bolster. The exterior is also in very good condition with no rust but it does have a dent on the back hatch. Tires are good and matching. For the few minutes I looked at it at the auction, it ran and drove very good at the auction lot. I won the auction for $7200 which is a bit steep but it was in such good shape and had a great history. I got the car back to Sioux Falls and my son drove it and when he got back, he mentioned a rod knock. We brought it to our mechanic and he said that it has a bad rod bearing. He thought a 50 weight racing oil could probably make the knock almost go away so we had him go ahead and change the oil and put a high quality filter in and it actually made it much better but the engine is going to need to be replaced or rebuilt at some point, may be soon or you may getlucky and it will last for awhile. Its a shame because it runs and rides so good. I am going to cut my losses and just sell as is as opposed to rebuilding or replacing. This is for sale locally also.
