2005 Toyota MR2 Description

Presented here for auction isone of the most outstanding sports cars of the modern era - the Toyota MR2 Spyder.
This 2005 -the final model year for U.S. sale- comes equipped with the leather interior upgrade (seats and portions of the door panels) as well as a limited slip differential. Perhaps the most striking feature is the genuine Toyota removeable hard top (lined and defroster equipped), a nearly $3k optionnever offered in the states.
In addition, this Spyder has been gently modified for increased performance:
  • Underfloor X brace for added rigidity
  • TRDquick shifter
  • PPE Engineering cold air intake
  • PPE full-length header and mid pipe, both with black ceramic coating
  • Hayward & Scott hand built stainless steel cat back exhaust with Lotus-style center exit tips
  • Tanabe Sway Bars (front and rear)
Cosmetic changes include:
  • Team Voodoo aluminum shift knob
  • JDM nose badge
  • JDM wheel center caps
  • Steering wheel center cap
  • Shaved rear badges with repositioned "MR-S"
  • Key hole and front license plate hole covers
Miscellaneous:
  • Optima Battery at 24k Miles
  • Full Fluid Flush at 24k Miles
  • Front Struts at 24k Miles
  • Kumho Ecsta XS tires (all four) at 25k miles
  • Redline MT90 Transaxle Oil at 31k miles
  • Bosch Icon wiper blades at 31k miles
Overall condition is good-to-excellent, with zero evidence of the car having been smoked in. Of note is that the soft topcondition indicates very little use. Issues are limited to cosmetics, including light road rash on the nose, some curb rash on one wheel, and a small wrinkle in the rocker panel ahead of the passenger-side rear wheel (see pic).
Paperwork includes service history as well as the original window sticker. Also included are the behind-the-seat interior panels for retrofitting should an owner choose to part with the hard top.
The car drives tight, corners with aplomb, and sounds the business (especially under wide-open throttle). Here's your chance to own a terrific example of a terrific car.
Please note: the removable hard top will not be sold separately from the car.
