2006 Toyota Tacoma Description

You are looking at a 2006 Tacoma with MANUAL transmission. I imagine a lot of you will pass because of this but these trucks are rare in manual and I had to search far and wide to find one. This truck in in great shape. I have owned it for 10 years and have done very little driving with it. Only 51,000 miles!

I have had zero problems with this truck in 10 years and recently I looked underneath and saw that the entire frame was badly rusted. I took it into the shop and apparently there was an issue they had with the older frames. Turned out that there was a factory recall for the frame. The shop kept the truck for close to 5 months waiting for the frame. So now she has a bran new, rust-free frame on her.

There are a few cosmetic dings on her. I provided photos but it’s hard to see because of the black color. There is one dent on the left rear driver’s side bed where I think someone dinged me in a parking lot. There is a small dent on the rear passenger’s door from a shopping cart. The plastic molding that covers the top of the back bumper is bent and cracked in a few spots but I think can easily be replaced. The towing hitch is a little rusted. They did not replace it when they did the frame. I think they should have because it looks like it suffers from the same issue. But a new hitch can be easy put on.

Since it was in the shop I spent $1200 on fixing anything that needed fixing. I have attached the shop invoice along with the photos.

Items include:

  • 27 Point Inspection
  • New Front Brakes Pads and Rotors
  • New Right Rear Wheel Cylinder
  • New Battery
  • Balanced Tires
  • New Drive Belts and Pulley Sub-Assemblies

UPDATE:

One of the things they did in the shop was to charge the AC. I took it for a drive the other day and noticed the AC was not working. This means there is a leak in the AC system. You will have to take it in and have the shop charge is with dye so they can find the leak.

ALSO: please check out the last photo. It is a screenshot of the Blue Book value of this car. I was fair and said that this car is in "good" condition and not "very good" condition. (This is cosmetically - mechanically, it is in excellent condition.) The resale price for this car is almost $21,000. And this doesn't even account for the fact that you have a BRAND NEW FRAME. So I would think that the price should be even higher. Yet I put the buy-it-now price at 18K and the reserve price is even lower than that! So please know that no matter what happens you are getting an excellent truck at an excellent price.

Let me know if you have any questions and happy bidding.
