***The is a relisting. Vehicle "sold" in previous listing for $6600 but buyer failed to pay. Ebay cancelled transaction.***
This description is to the best of my knowledge. No exaggerations or embellishments. I am selling the vehicle only because I am now getting a double cab Tacoma.

I have owned this vehicle since August 2008.Mileage at time of purchase was 78862.I have put only 18500 miles on it over the past 8 years because it has served as an occasional-use vehicle. I have used it mainly for light home renovation purposes (runs to Home Depot) and, over the last few years, for about 12 trips between MA and VT.The vehicle has been generally well cared for.I believe that I am the third owner. Carfax report should show first owner from May 2001 (bought new) to June 2005.Second owner from June 2005 to August 2008, and he also used it as a second vehicle for recreational purposes.

Inspection and test drive of vehicle strongly encouraged – you will find it to be smooth, tight and firm. The vehicle's registration, insurance and inspection sticker are current.Vehicle just went through/passed Massachusetts inspection -- sticker good until Nov. 2017.I am setting the reserve at $6000.

Engine, Mechanical and Electrical: Probably the strongest aspect of this vehicle!Engine and transmission are simply sound! Engine is powerful and very well tuned.Starts on first turn. At idle, has a soft purr (Gibson exhaust system), and when the pedal is pressed, a tuneful V6 whistle is heard. In all the time I have had this truck, the check engine light has never come on! See chronology below for last tune up.Oil and filter have been changed every 3000 miles for past 5 years.Transmission is smooth and shifts normally. Center bearing on driveshaft was replaced in 2012. No electrical issues whatsoever.Battery was last replaced in 2012, OEM Toyota True Start battery installed by dealership – Herb Chambers Toyota of Boston.Heater, fan and AC all work very well.

Brakes, Steering & Suspension: Braking system is excellent -- front brake calipers, rotors and pads were just replaced (August 24) at cost of $700.Parking brakes/rear brakes work very well. All brake lines and hoses are intact.Steering system is very good; power steering works fine. Wheel alignment was last done about two years ago.Suspension is strong but shocks appear to be factory originals. No current problems with shocks but expect that they may need replacement at some point down the line.Vehicle has never been used off-road and has only rarely carried heavy loads.

Chassis/Undercarriage and Exhaust System:Vehicle was inspected by Toyota during Toyota’s major Tacoma chassis recall in 2010.Chassis showed no rot, and preventative treatment was done by Herb Chambers Toyota. Before 15-year warranty (2001 – 2016) on chassis expired, I called Toyota and insisted on a chassis inspection.Inspection was just performed by Herb Chambers Toyota, and as expected, has shown no problems.Chassis is strong and intact, has surface corrosion only.See pics. The metal plate that attaches to the cable that holds up the spare tire was also just replaced -- in a minor recall. In 2010, a Gibson high performance stainless steel exhaust system was installed (section from the catalytic converter to tailpipe). The catalytic converter was also changed at that time.Exhaust system works and sounds fine.

Body / Exterior:Generally very good and clean but body has some blemishes.(1) Passenger door was dented in driveway by neighbor’s son in 2012. I made the mistake of agreeing to let him do the dent repair (he said he could do it well) and what a mistake that was!The dent was pulled out, filled, and sprayed with a non-matching silver paint, and no clear coat.It looks like what it is – an amateur backyard job! And, there is some over spray on access cab area which was completely unaffected by the dent.(2) In 2013, a tree limb fell on vehicle during a freak windstorm in Brookline, MA.This resulted in three left side dents, on roof, fender and very small one on bed rail.See pics.Left side mirror was also hit but no cracks. The actual mirror, not the housing, is a little loose – will slowly move out of position. I keep it in place by securing the toggle lever inside.

Other than the above, the body is very straight, very clean and very solid.Paint is in excellent condition. Both rear and front bumpers were replaced in 2013 following fender-bender in a street parking bay – vehicle was parked, hit from behind, causing it to hit vehicle in front.Bumpers were very slightly dented but I got insurance company to replace them with OEM brand new ones.Windshield was replaced in 2013 by J.N Phillips auto glass in Allston, MA, after tiny crack in old windshield grew to 2 inches long from a speck size when it first appeared in 2011.

OEM Toyota bed liner installed in 2008 right after I purchased vehicle. Bed metal is in very good condition because it has always been protected by liner. One pic shows the bed liner lifted a bit with view of what’s underneath. Undercarriage pics also show under surface of the bed.

Wheels:Tires are BF Goodrich All-Terrain, and alloy rims are from a Toyota 4Runner.Both were installed in 2008 (at cost of $1350).Tires are heavy duty with many tens of thousands of miles left on them -- up to 3/4 inch of groove depth. Rims are in above average condition – some of the coating is peeling on the two front rims.See pics. The size of these tires and alloy rims do give this truck a very nice look.

Interior:Dash, seats, console, carpets, etc. are all very clean, no wear and tear, no signs of heavy use or abuse. All gauges and interior lights work.Carpets and headliner are in fine condition.Rubber mats were always used over the carpets.Original jack still in jack compartment and looks like it has hardly been used. Vehicle also comes with original owner’s manual and original keys.Interior is simply in excellent condition.
