1973 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 Description

This full restoration began with an amazing truck with little rust . I started by carefully disassembling all body components. They were then media blasted, epoxy primed, or etch primed. Then sanded to perfection, and painted with PPG Urethane original Freeborn Red, Cygnus White, Pewter.

Complete frame and all frame components were wire brushed, sanded, then painted with POR-15 and top coated with PPG semi-gloss black.

Front turn signals

Mirror arms and heads

Fender apron emblems

New front door gaskets

Window felts

Wing vent window gaskets

Hood windshield rubber cushions

Wiper blades

Door locks

Rear door handle and gasket

Rear door gasket

Rear tag light

Reverse light

Rear “Toyota” emblem

Rear “4 Wheel Drive” emblem

Tail lights and tail light holders

Hard top sides to fiberglass dome gaskets

Running boards

Front and rear shocks (Sanded and painted Cygnus White)

Shifter handles, 4 speed shifter knob, & 4 wheel drive knob

Front calipers, pads, rear shoes, & drums

Emergency break drum shoes

Rebuilt clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder with all new Toyota parts

Aisin Clutch Master Rebuild Kit: Pressure plate throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, clutch disc, & rear main seal

Other Restoration Details :

Replaced the 1973 3 Speed with a 1978 4 Speed Transmission, Transfer Case, & Drive Shaft

New 5 Wrangler 31x10.50x15 on Toyota Cygnus White rims

New Red Top Optima Battery

New Wet Okole Seat Covers (on FJ 62 seats)

New 3-point harness front seat belts

New Break lines

New Leaf spring and shackle bushings

New Tie rod ends and boots

All nuts & bolts were replaced with either stainless steel, or original Toyota

New windshield & gasket

New Specter Off Road Inner rear door handle

New rear view mirror

New FJ62 Power steering conversion

1978 Front disc brake axel

Original distributer with new electronic points

1978 Break booster & brake master cylinder

Weber 32/36 carburetor (Original 1973Toyota rebuilt carburetor & original air cleaner come with truck)

Pintle Hitch

3 Years ago head gaske, valve cover gasket, & water pump gasket were replaced

I installed a Conifer rear bench seat with storage under seat, and back lock storage box because I felt this was more comfortable and practical for passengers.

This is a great truck! Everything works as it should.

My wife and I have been driving and enjoying it to the fullest. The only reason I am parting with it is because I need funds to restore my FJ45 LV.
