1973 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER Fj40 DIESEL
1973 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
This 1973 Toyota Landcruiser Fj40 is one of the nicest examples of an early Fj40 that we’ve come across. This customer had purchased this vehicle back in 2007 with the intention of immediately having us convert it to diesel. It started out its life with the anemic 2F inline 6 gas engine with 4 speed manual gearbox. In 2007, we began the painstaking process of putting the Toyota 2H naturally aspirated diesel engine in its place. Along the way, we added a full Saginaw power steering system which is integrated with the factory diesel power steering pump. We also added an H55 5 speed manual gearbox that typically comes behind the diesels. We had a custom carpet installed as well as a Vintage Air™ ac/heat combo system. These systems are ice cold in the summer and toasty hot in the winter. A Pioneer CD player and (2) 6x9 speaker boxes complete the interior modifications list. The vehicle gets around 24-25 mpg with mixed city/hwy travel. We personally drove the vehicle down to Texas from New Mexico and it made the trip with ZERO issues. Keep in mind, this is a vintage Landcruiser so while we do our absolute best to describe and show pictures of the vehicle, there will be nicks, dings, and creaks indicative of a 43 year old vehicle. That being said, this FJ shows extremely well and will serve the new owner for years to come. We completed this conversion over 8 years ago and the customer has enjoyed years of trouble-free service from this vehicle. The customer has asked us to assist in selling the vehicle as well as giving it a clean bill of health notating any mechanical issues it may have. Other than basic service of fluids, grease, and filters, we would recommend a new set of glow plugs and tie rod ends. We had it professionally detailed and it is now available for sale. The buyer is responsible for shipping from 78213 zip code. We can assist in transport should the buyer need assistance. Thanks for looking.
