Even though our family’s van is starting to show some cosmetic wear, it has received careful maintenance over the years, and it shows. It’s a reliable vehicle with comfortable seats, even on longer road trips, and even approaching 240,000 miles it uses less than half a quart of oil between oil changes. There is some surface rust starting on the hitch, but the rest of the body is rust-free. This is a third-owner, second-family vehicle (my father was the second owner). Note: the vehicle report describes four owners; the fourth listed is actually from when my family moved to West Virginia, requiring a change in title.
Being an XLE, this van has many extras. It has automatic climate control (front and rear controls); an auto-dim mirror with HomeLink universal garage door opener buttons and compass; leather seats (power-adjusted driver’s seat; driver and front passenger seats are heated); power door locks, front windows, and rear quarter windows; power sliding doors on both sides (see below); power moon roof; and 15” alloy wheels. It seats seven with second-row captain’s chairs and third-row bench seat, designed for easy removal for more cargo space. It comes with the factory entertainment system, nice for travel, with an overhead screen, built-in VCR, and RCA plugs for connecting other sources.
Along with regular maintenance (see below), I have made some improvements along the way. I added a Class 3 (2” opening) hitch, with 4-pin wiring harness. The van has an aftermarket radio (JVC KD-R960BTS) with CD player, USB and aux-in inputs, and Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls, and can be set to work with Pandora, iHeart Radio, or Sirius XM. The steering wheel-mounted radio controls still work. I upgraded the front door speakers; the others are the originals from the JBL premium sound package.
This Sienna has been regularly maintained; the original owner got most of her work done at dealerships, and my dad and I both have done oil changes every 3,500-4,500 miles (rather than Toyota’s recommended 7,500). In the past year and a half I have changed the front brakes and rotors; replaced the alternator; flushed and replaced the brake fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant (along with the radiator hoses); installed new headlight housings (the old ones had become clouded over the years); and installed new struts and shocks, front and rear. The tires have less than 7,000 miles on them. I have detailed maintenance records available.
Known issues (for later discussion):
Passenger-side sliding door opens manually, but closes as power door. Driver-side power sliding door opens and closes correctly. Fixing the passenger door’s power feature could become expensive, but we have successfully used it this way for a few years now.
The entertainment system is VHS (which works fine, as long as you still have tapes). It has RCA plugs to add a DVD or other source, but we haven’t tested them to see how they work. One of the two headphone ports for the entertainment system has a loose connection; the other works fine, or sound can be routed through the radio.
As you can see from the pictures, some of the interior trim in the back has been scratched up, and there are a couple of stains in the carpet.
Fog light lenses are slightly cracked, but are fully functional.
Winning bidder:
Title is clean, and will be transferred to the new owner at pickup. It will be the buyer's responsibility to arrange for license and insurance, as the current plate will be transferred to our replacement vehicle.
Van may be picked up locally, or you may arrange shipment. I would be willing to discuss the possibility of meeting partway if you live in WV, MD, PA, OH, or southern IN.
Van comes with two key fobs and three keys.
