COMPLETE REBUILD 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 SR5 Ext Cab Truck 4cyl w/ Shell REBUILT
1998 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Description
I'm selling my 1998 Toyota Tacoma four wheel drive Extra Cab because I had to buy a new truck as this was in the shop for the last couple months (shop ref below) and I needed a truck.
THE GOOD: Had a 50,000 mile transmission put in and a complete rebuild, from the bottom up, on the engine. So mechanically she is sound. I've driven it the 500 mile break-in period, it doesnt have the power of the six, but absolutely no leaks or problems. Has a Cab-Hi fitted shell, nice Kenwood stereo w/ hands free microphone and Linex Bedliner. 17" Toyota FJ rims fill out the wheel wells better with 25k on height adjustable 5100 Bilstein shocks set-up. I'll miss the High 4x4 mode for trips to the mountains and snow. White with blue interior. There's 259,000 on the chassis but just put in $5,500 on complete engine rebuild and installed a low mileage transmission. Pink slip in hand and in my name. Can set up viewing.
I ONLY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN THE PURSUIT OF FULL DISCLOSURE:
THE BAD: Has a few dings (pics attached) and paint is fair to good. I replaced the driver door with one that has a couple nicks cause it got dented in a parking lot. I tried to buy Toyota super white and paint some of shell but that didn't work out great and there are some nicks on - so you have some not perfect matched whites but overall it still looks good as a truck. Depending on your purpose you might throw a MAACO paint job on the whole thing - what I was going to do as I have a new driver front fender included cause of slight crease (pic). There's a little ding below the driver door and 'behind' right side of rear bumper (pics) but you don't really notice. The interior has some nicks and such but pretty negligible. Seats are fine except about a 6 inch long rip along outer edge of driver seat I like the Cabela seat covers $60. Tires have about 3/8 of an inch or around 15,000 miles left..
THE UGLY: The salvage title was apparently a hit to the passenger side Xcab stated the guy I bought it at 89,000 miles from (but the repair was done professionally and cannot be detected) and Ive had no issues as far as. Other than that no real ugly...
