Hi! I am helping my parents sell their RAV4 LTD. My younger brother has been using it for some time and they recently purchased a new vehicle to replace this one. Most of the information can be gleaned from the CARFAX, however, I will try to be as specific as possible in describing any and all issues the car has had.
We are the second owners of the car. It was purchased at 35k miles. The accident that occurred 08/2013 involved another vehicle sliding through the snow from an on ramp into this RAV4. The front right of the car was damaged and the car was towed, but the damage was primarily to the body and the car was promptly fixed.
The pictures were taken on 08/2016, but shortly afterwards we were informed of a recall for engine oil consumption. The recall code, I believe, is CSP POL14-12. A separate recall, CSP POL15-02, had the (rear?) coupling assembly. All of this information can be confirmed from the Toyota dealership receipt. Essentially the entire engine was overhauled (along with the rear differential coupling assembly) with the following items replaced:
-Short block assembly
-pistons and ring set
-oil pump assembly
-Oil filter and pan
-coupling assembly
We also paid for the following replacements:
-water pump assembly
-drivebelt and assembly
-thermostat and gasket
4 snow tires on vehicle. 2 regular tires included
FULL DISCLOSURE: I must mention that one of the drivers in the family is a smoker. There are small burns on the front seats, but we went through an extensive process to clean the car, but I must mention that there is a minor odor of disinfectant/smoke. I can barely notice it and my other family members CANNOT notice it. I am sure that another cleaning/aerating the car would solve this issue. But the car must be sold as is. Personally, if I did not just purchase a car I would have purchased this one.
Local pickups or viewing must be done around zip code 07632, right by the George Washington Bridge. Please send questions my well, I will do my best to help! Happy new year!
