2015 Toyota Prius Plug-in Advanced

with Radar, Softex Leather, Premium Navigation, Backup Camera, Bluetooth, & HOV stickers

This is a Dual-Fuel advanced hybrid Vehicle that runs on either:

Cheap low octane gasoline like any regular car (for cross country driving just add Fuel and drive like any other car for average 51MPG)

Or

Electricity from a standard household outlet(up to 1,000 MPG for shorter trips around town up to about 9-17 miles using no fuel)

Or

A mix of both electricity and gas (the car will automatically choose what it needs based on your driving and the government has rated its mixed fuel economy at 95mpg)

MPG

Your mileage will vary depending on how often you charge the car vs. how far you drive. You don’t need to ever charge it and you can expect about 51 if you never charge it and much-more if you often charge it. I usually get about 200MPG average and I charge my cars from Solar power so I am getting my electricity free from the sun.

Range

Unlike pure electric cars like Tesla or Nissan Leaf, This car can fuel up at any gas station on low octane or better fuel and drive without any restrictions. No worry about how far your driving range is before you have to charge because you never need to charge this car unless you want to. This car is very powerful and features a 1.8 liter gas engine running in parallel with a powerful electric motor. The electric motor by itself is powerful enough to move the car with brisk acceleration and if the driver presses the Power mode button then you have a very responsive beast of an automobile. The car is fully capable to drive at speeds in excess of the posted 80mph speed limits that are only in certain states. This car is designed to be a fuel saving car without giving up the luxuries.

HOV Stickers

This California Prius Plug-in’s driver gets a very special perk of being allowed to drive alone in the HOV diamond lanes on freeways and bridges. HOV lanes normally require that 2 or 3 people must be present in the vehicle to use those lanes but this car has been granted status by state law to let its driver travel alone in any HOV lane alone at any time day or night. This is specially permitted by state law to display the Green Stickers and carry a HOV Lane Permit Document. Even better the Governor has now removed the 2019 expiration date so you can continue to use the Green Stickers until the law changes. This is a BIG-Deal because time is money. HOV Privilege authority

NOTE: the HOV stickers are Government issued numbered document sets assigned to specific cars. They are not owned. They stay with the car they are assigned (like License plates) to and can not be transferred to a different car. Anyone driving the permitted car is authorized to drive it in the HOV lane. Example: if you bought this car for a company, any employee or authorized driver of the company can drive the car solo in the carpool lane. The permits apply to the car regardless of who drives it. This time saving feature can give you a very significant time/money saving advantage in traffic congested areas. For some buyers these cars can pay for themselves within months. California has been restricting the number of cars that can receive the HOV stickers and you must jump thru some regulatory hoops including waiting to see if DMV still has any left to issue to get them issued for a car that does not have them already. In our experience it can take 5 weeks+ for a properly completed application to be approved.

Hard to Find Advanced Technology Package

The Adv. Tech package includes some partially self-driving capability is only available on certain packages. Because it’s a pricey option, the cars with it are very rare. Only a very few people were willing/able to shell out over $40k for a new Prius so finding an available used one in great condition is quite a challenge. Why is condition as rated?

This 2015 model year car is still covered by Toyota Bumper to Bumper Full Warranty. It also has the additional Toyota Factory Warranty that lasts in Tiers up to 15 years or 150,000 miles from its original sale date. The car is quite Clean as it only had some minor scrape and corresponding cosmetic bodywork to the right rear quarter fender exterior body panel. The repaired damage was as minor as a scrape against a post at a gas station against the fender arch. The Warranty and title are clean and were not affected.

All the cars systems are working properly and the car drives very well. The car is not certified but it would be if not for the body work to the right rear exterior skin. That location is a key point and so could be considered a structural area of a modern uni-body car.

What is a Uni-body Structure?

Cars today are constructed as a unitized body rather than a body on separate Frame.

• Frame is usually shaped like a metal H under the car attached with rubber pads (common today larger trucks or very old cars)
• Uni-body may have only a very small mini-frame just to support engine & Suspension

These so-called modern Uni-body cars use the entire body as a structural unit. The manufactures crash test them and earn safety ratings based on crash test performance. Any even minor dents or scratch damage to certain areas is considered to be best practice to make disclosure. As example if a rear fender was slight side-swipe of a post in a drive-thru restaurant or gas station restraint or similar damage or greater

How does Unibody pertain to Certified Pre-Owned?

Many Manufactures run vehicle Certification programs that allow them to command a much stronger final sale price and higher car payments by passing a vehicle thru a multi-point inspection & Certification process thus offering buyers a comfortable Fancy, store-like buying experience. Due to Deep-pocket Liability of major auto–makers, the Certification process will usually bar vehicle from being certified for certain major issues but also very minor issues as well such as:

• Paint on more than 3 body panels
• Dents or prior damage “of any kind” to the rear fender area, or certain other parts of a uni-body vehicle
• Having an Aftermarket Stereo Unit.

The above issues are things that Lawyers might use to pursue an Auto-Maker if a car accident results in injury even years later after a car was built and was certified.

The Auto-maker will divert the cars with the least work to its Top-Dollar Certified Pre-Owned program and any that might-not make the Deep-Pocket Liability cut will be given a Scarlet Letter such as “Structural Damage” so-as to prevent price-point competition against New-car-stores and the Certified Programs Price Point.

What is the $9,500 in Free Government Grants about?

In the government’s words…

Up to $9,500 toward Purchase Available In an effort to scrap additional older, highly polluting vehicles in the Southland, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) has launched a new incentive program to help low- and moderate- income residents purchase newer and cleaner vehicles. Residents may be eligible to receive between $2,500 and $9,500 to purchase a newer, cleaner, more fuel-efficient vehicle depending on their income level, the vehicle model purchased and where they live. Low-income residents living in an environmentally disadvantaged area and purchasing one of the cleanest vehicles available would receive the highest incentive amount. “Our clean air progress relies on increasing the number of cleaner vehicles,” said William A. Burke, Ed.D., chair of the SCAQMD Board. “We hope these incentives will encourage residents to make the switch to lower-emission vehicles.” Replace Your Ride, formally known as the Enhanced Fleet Modernization Program pilot program, will offer residents incentives ranging from $2,500 up to $4,500, depending on income level and type of vehicle purchased. Residents living in disadvantaged communities could be eligible for up to $2,500 for the purchase of a conventional hybrid vehicle or up to an additional $5,000 for the purchase of a plug-in hybrid or zero-emission vehicle that is eight years old or newer when purchased. Disadvantaged communities are defined by the state Air Resources Board as those most burdened by multiple sources of pollution as well as socio-economic factors such as low-income. Residents who choose to scrap their vehicle but not replace it may be eligible for $2,500 to $4,500 in public transit passes or car sharing vouchers depending on their income level. Qualifying participants need to: Meet income requirements shown at www.replaceyourride.com;Live in the South Coast Air Quality Management District, which includes all of Orange County and major portions of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino County; andOwn a vehicle that meets program requirements. Case managers including those fluent in Spanish will help inform residents about the program and guide them through the process from start to finish. SCAQMD expects to retire between 550 and 1,000 vehicles as part of this program. The program is funded with $4.23 million from SCAQMD, the state’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and its AB 118 Enhanced Fleet Modernization Program, as well as the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, established by state law to fund programs to reduce motor vehicle pollution.
In my simplified words…

“If you qualify, the Government Is willing to give you $9500 cash value free and clear towards paying for this car. The catch is that you need to prove: you live in the SCAQMD area of Southern California, income more or less you figure how many people in your household documented on your tax return then average your tax return adjusted gross income.

The government has a chart they use to determine if you qualify for the full $9500 or lesser amount.

It scales something like:

Family of 4 under $100k,

Family of 3 under $75k,

Family of 2 or couple Under 50k

or $25k individual. And you have to turn in a currently registered car, truck, SUV, which will be shredded & Crushed in exchange for the $9500. If the Trade in is a seemingly worthless beater that barely runs and drives you are good. If you have a trade in worth more, then just trade it to me for fair value.

Everyone else has to pay full price or call to make the best deal.
A lot of people do qualify but just don't know it yet. If that sound like you might qualify than act fast because once that $4.2Million is allocated the program will end or might get modified.

We have received funding on 5 or more cars in the past few months and works out that you end up paying roughly 50%of the cost of the car and the government pays the other ½. Some customers have received lesser amount such as only $7500 because of their high incomes but most have received the full $9500.

The Government contribution is to buy you out of your older junky car. So far customers have received the $Grant to buy them out of there:

1998 end-of-its-life Honda Civic 2 door with salvage title $9500

Those Junker vehicles are headed for the shredders and the owners jumped thru all the governments’ hoops to get the grant money but mostly it’s just a waiting game that takes 3-5 weeks.
