1996 Toyota Previa DX, 7-Passenger Mini Van, 3-Door, 2.4L Supercharged
1996 Toyota Previa DX Mini Passenger Van 3-Door Description
UP FOR BID IS MY 1996 TOYOTA PREVIA DX S/C. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS, IT'S NOT THE PRETTIEST LOOKING MINI VAN OUT THERE, BUT IT HAS A SOLID ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WITH ONLY ABOUT 109,000 ORIGINAL MILES. I DIDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO DOUSE THE EXTERIOR AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH ARMOR ALL, NOR DID I USE A VACUUM TO MAKE THOSE NEAT LITTLE VACUUM MARKS, SO WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICS IS WHAT YOU'LL GET. IT'S BEEN VERY RELIABLE AND HAS NEVER LET US DOWN. I'VE NEVER HAD TO CALL AAA UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN MY WIFE LOCKED THE KEYS IN THE VAN.
I PURCHASED THIS VAN WITH ABOUT 86,000 MILES FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, WHO IS ONE OF MY BEST FRIEND'S MOTHER-IN-LAW. SHE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW FROM LONGO TOYOTA IN EL MONTE, CALIFORNIA BACK IN 1996. MY WIFE'S BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR AROUND FOR ABOUT THE PAST 2 YEARS, BUT I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEWER CAR FROM A FRIEND. AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE TO KEEP THIS, BECAUSE ITS SO PRACTICAL AND USEFUL FOR TRIPS TO COSTCO, HOME DEPOT AND IKEA, I HAVE TO LET IT GO. I HAVE TOO MANY CARS OF MY OWN, PLUS MY WIFE IS TIRED OF DROPPING OFF MY HIGH SCHOOL SON 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM SCHOOL. (IT'S NOT THAT UGLY!!!)
THE EXTERIOR IS GREEN WITH NO DENTS. I DON'T BELIEVE IT HAS EVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS. THE PAINT WAS REDONE A FEW YEARS AGO IN THAT LOVELY GREEN YOU SEE IN THE PICS (MY LEAST FAVORITE COLOR IN A VEHICLE). THE DARK GRAY PAINT IS PEELING ON THE PLASTIC PANELS (NOT SURE WHY IT WAS PAINTED IN THE FIRST PLACE). THE PLASTIC WHEEL COVERS COULD USE SOME PAINT TOO. TIRES ARE FAIRLY NEW WITH MAYBE ABOUT 3,000 MILES ON THEM. I'M SURE THERE'S SCRATCHES AND OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE EXTERIOR, BUT NOTHING MAJOR. ALSO, THE PLASTIC RAIN GUTTERS ON THE ROOF ARE MISSING... MY WIFE NOTICED IT HANGING OFF THE ROOF AFTER PASSING THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH AT A GAS STATION AND DECIDED TO LEAVE IT THERE (WHY!!!).
THE INTERIOR IS BROWN / BEIGE... OR MAYBE WAS ONCE BEIGE, BUT IS NOW BROWN??? IT'S NOT THAT BAD. THE SEATS ARE ALL IN ONE PIECE AND HAVE NO TEARS OTHER THAN THE LITTLE PIECE OF FABRIC MISSING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE ARMREST. THE MIDDLE SEAT IS MISSING THE HANDLE TO RECLINE THE SEAT, BUT DECENT VISE GRIP DOES THE TRICK. THE DASH HAS A FEW CRACKS. THE CARPETS AREN'T TOO BAD, BUT COULD USE A GOOD CLEANING. THE HEADLINER IS IN GREAT SHAPE, NOTHING TORN OR HANGING DOWN. THE A/C WORKS, BUT THERE ARE PIECES MISSING ON THE VENTS FACING FORWARD ABOVE THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT FOR THE REAR FANS. I BELIEVE SOME PIECES FELL INTO THE VENT SO IT MAKES A FUNNY NOISE WHEN YOU TURN ON THE REAR FANS. THE RADIO WORKS, BUT IS MISSING THE VOLUME KNOB, SO YOU HAVE TO PINCH IT WITH YOUR FINGERS TO ADJUST THE VOLUME. THE HEATER, POWER WINDOWS, AND FRONT POWER DOOR LOCKS ALL WORK FINE. THE SLIDING SIDE POWER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT WORK, SO IT NEEDS TO BE LOCKED AND UNLOCKED MANUALLY. ALSO, THE SLIDING DOOR DOESN'T SLIDE VERY SMOOTHLY SO IT TAKES A LITTLE ELBOW GREASE TO SHUT IT. I'M NOT SURE IF THE TRUNK HAS A POWER LOCK, BUT IF IT DOES, IT DOESN'T WORK.
THE ORIGINAL OWNER'S MANUALS WILL BE INCLUDED (SEEMS LIKE IT WAS NEVER CRACKED OPEN), AS WELL AS A NEW PAIR OF OEM TOYOTA FRONT WIPER BLADES.
I BELIEVE I'VE DISCLOSED EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE VAN. IF I CAN THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE, I WILL POST IT UP ASAP. IF YOU ARE LOCAL AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE AND/OR TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE, WE CAN ARRANGE THAT- I'M IN THE LOS ANGELES, CA AREA.
BIDDING WILL START AT $100.00 AND WHATEVER IT SELLS FOR, I'LL BE HAPPY TO TAKE. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS VAN. IT'LL PROBABLY GO ANOTHER MILLION MILES OR SO (BUT I CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT). IT DEFINITELY HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL.
