Overview:For sale by owner is a very clean 1998 Toyota Camry LE. Adult owned and never abused. Daily driven and garage kept. This Camry is very clean inside and out. The car has no problems at all. No leaks, no smoke, no dash warning lights, no funny noises, nothing. This Camry gets great gas mileage, averages 34 miles per gallon which is pretty darn good! A good majority of the miles on the car are highway miles from driving back and forth to North Carolina. The Camry starts right up every time. The 2.2L engine runs nice and quiet with good power. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The brakes work great with no issues. Cruise control works perfect. Car just floats on the highway. The suspension rides very nice with no rattles or noises. The car had the shocks and struts replaced along with new ball joints, sway bar links, and sway bar bushings. The exhaust is quiet with no leaks. The A/C blows cold and the heat works great in the winter. All interior options and gadgets work perfectly. The factory 6 speaker premium stereo works great and the speakers sound really good. This Camry has a perfect Carfax Report (see below). Another interesting fact, unlike most Camrys, this car was Made in Japan (J-vin). That means this car was completely manufactured and built then exported to the United States. Japan has exceedingly high quality standards compared to the United States and uses higher quality parts during the manufacturing and assembly process. Some say Japan spec vehicles are much more superior. Japan no longer exports their Camrys so this is quite the rare find for those of you searching for a Camry with the Made in Japan tag. This has been a wonderful car and will be for years to come.
Exterior:The Anitque Sage Pearl exterior is in excellent condition. The paint is all original and still has a great shine. Waxed yearly. The exterior is super clean and has no major dents, scratches, or rust. The headlights look great with no cracks, haze, or discoloration. The wheels are cleaned regularly and look great. All the glass is perfect. The windshield has no chips or cracks. The windshield was replaced 2 months ago. The tail lights are perfect with no cracks or scratches. The Gold Edition emblems still look nice but show some age. The Camry has some rock chips up front from interstate driving and some paint bubbling in 2 very small spots on roof near the windshield corners. The rear bumper was crunched by my nephew. He hit it with the riding lawn mower. Doh! A body shop said all it needs is a new bumper but never took the time to find one from a salvage yard. You can find one ready for paint on ebay for $60 shipped or pre-painted for $250 shipped but I would just get one from a salvage yard with the same paint color. It will be cheap too. Other than that this is a super clean car, well above average.
Interior:The interior is very clean as well. Cleaned and conditioned regularly. The seats are in great condition, no rips or stains. The seats are very comfortable. All interior options and gadgets work great. No broken or missing interior parts. All power locks and power windows work great. Cruise control and power mirrors work perfect. All stereo controls and climate controls work great on every setting. The dash is clean with no cracks. Headliner is clean with no issues. Door panels look great with no cracks or damage. Dome light and map lights work great. Horn works perfect! The steering wheel shows some age. Trunk is clean and has a Toyota carpet trunk mat. Comes with factory spare tire and tools. The engine bay is clean. Hoses are conditioned regularly. Very clean interior.
Maintenance History:This Camry has been maintained great. Timely oil changes every 5K miles and the timing belt & water pump has been replaced at recommended intervals. The timing belt was most recently replaced at 239K miles. At that time a full tune-up was performed along with replacing the crankshaft seal, camshaft seal, oil pump seal, and valve cover gasket. The full tune-up consisted of replacing the spark plugs, spark plug wires, pcv valve, air filter, and new headlight bulbs. The exhaust has been maintained and has no leaks. New Catalytic Converter, flex pipe and muffler at 210K miles. The transmission was repaired at 254K miles (shifts perfect). The factory motor mounts were replaced with oem mounts a couple years back. The originals lasted forever but the car hasn't been driven hard so not surprised. The tires were replaced with new Michelin Tires. They have been rotated regularly and have lots of tread left (6-7 32nds tread depth. ~ 65% life left). An alignment was performed when the tires were put on. The Crankshaft Positioning Sensor was replaced at 206K miles. Last winter the original radiator was replaced and the cooling system was flushed. At that time the heater core and thermostat were replaced for good measure. Toyota Red Long Life Coolant was used. The front brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced at 263K miles. The car has a new O2 sensor, new battery, new windshield, new shocks and struts, new ball joints, new front and rear sway bar links, and new front and rear sway bar bushings. Maintenance records come with the car. With proper maintenance this Camry will hit and exceed 500K miles easy.
Options:This Camry has the LE trim with the Gold Edition Package. The Gold Edition Package comes with Gold front and rear emblems, power moonroof, premium alloy wheels, and premium sound. The car has power windows, power mirrors, power moonroof, cruise control, a/c, rear defrost and they all work great. This Camry is equipped with ABS, dual front airbags, side airbags, tilt wheel, power steering, carpet trunk mat, and mudflaps. This Camry has the amplified 6 Speaker Premium Stereo System with AM/FM radio, cassette, and CD player. It produces high quality highs and mids. Very crisp and clear. The windows were tinted 4 years ago and look great. A/C is cold and has been maintained. Last a/c related items replaced were the front A/C return line and 2 rubber o-rings a couple summers ago.
