This FJ60 Land Cruiser spent it first 30 years in Southern California and the last 2 years in Arizona and has zero rust. I have owned this truck for over a year and have just completed an extensive resto mod to better than new condition. Over $30,000 was invested and over eight months of hard work and dedication was done to make this one of the best driving FJ60’s available today. I had no plans to sell this wonderful truck but I am purchasing a business and need capital so unfortunately I have to sell it.

This FJ60 has been modified to a Chevy 5.7 liter/350 V8 TBI with an automatic 700R4 transmission but retains the original Toyota transfer case. This engine swap is California Air Resources Board Certified (CARB) Label #N5286757 dated 9/28/2000 and will pass emissions in all 50 states. See the State Certification sticker photo below. The 5.7 liter V8 came from a 1994 Chevrolet truck with 70,000 miles. In early 1999 the original 4.2 liter 2F carburetor caught fire and burned the top end as well as the hood. The insurance company determined it a loss and paid the claim so the title is “salvage”. Let me be clear this truck has never been in an accident. This was a perfect situation for the owner to convert it to the more powerful 5.7 /350 V8 with throttle body injection and automatic transmission. Sadly, the conversion was only 80% completed and the truck was parked in 2002 in Palm Springs California. I purchased it in 2015 and just completed the resto mod to its present state which is spectacular.

*New 265/75 R16 BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tires.
*New 16 inch Level 8 Tracker Black alloy cast wheels including 5th wheel for spare tire.
*New 2.5 inch Old Man Emu lift including leaf springs, shocks, steering damper with caster kit.
*New KKS 3 row aluminum high flow radiator.
*New dual Maradyne Challenger automatic fans.
*New Warn VR8000 Winch with 8,000 Lb. pulling capacity.
*New ARB bull bar front bumper powder coated black.
*New factory chrome rear bumper.
*New 7 inch H4 Bulb conversion headlights, grill, badge and side markers.
*New rear wheel cylinders break shoes, turned drums and factory break booster.
*New A/C compressor, condenser, dryer and full charged with R134 refrigerant.
*New throttle cable and speedometer cable.
*Lots of other items have been replaced but just too many to list.


This FJ60 runs drives and stops absolutely awesome it’s like a new truck it even smells brand new inside. The power is strong and the transmission shifts smooth as silk. The factory FJ62 automatic shifter is also a great custom touch. There are NO rattles, squeaks or wind noise of any kind it really is very impressive to drive. Everything works as it should including all door locks, lights, wipers, seat belts, heater and A/C. The 4 wheel drive system engages smooth and operates perfect. It has never been wrecked and even has all the original factory Toyota glass including the windshield which is very rare.

As you can see from the photos I did not repaint the under carriage, differentials or frame rails they are original everything was simply cleaned and wiped down. The original chrome rocker panel side trim "the snake blinders" are also intact and in very nice condition. Factory jack and tool kit are also included. It comes with the original Toyota owners manual, owners guide specific to California only and original signed Toyota Touch Personalized Pre-delivery service sheet from the dealer.

Eric Murphy of Camelback Toyota in Phoenix and a proud member of Copper State Cruiser Club inspected and drove this truck on 1/31/17 and was very impressed with everything. He claimed it was the tightest, most quiet FJ60 he has ever driven and would vouch for its condition.

To find a better JF60 I believe you would have to employ Jonathan Ward from ICON4x4 in Los Angeles to build you one at around $130,000 and at least a year’s time. I am not saying this is an ICON level truck but it’s the best FJ60 you get for the money and you can use it. It was built to be enjoyed and look great doing it. I get glowing complements and thumbs up every time I drive it. Cool old schools looks with modern performance and drivability.

The truck has been road tested for around 600 miles after resto mod completion with no issues. It runs 70 miles an hour on the freeway without effort. Clear Arizona title in my name with current emissions and registration. CarFax report verifies no structural damage and odometer check verifies 194,000 original miles. The truck is located in Phoenix Arizona.
