Up for sale is my 1989 Toyota FJ62 Landcruiser. This is no ordinary FJ62!!! This has been a 10+ year build on a cruiser that is now a manual, 5-speed, H55 tranny conversion, lifted, lockered and ready for you to take to the mountains and USE!!! Here is a list of all (most?) of the mods:
·H55 5-speed factory transmission conversion - 2013. Professionally installed by Redline Landcruisers in Colorado Springs. This is how the 62 was meant to be built. Lower low gear and a higher 5th gear makes this an on-road and off-road beast! Included new clutch master and slave cylinders.
·Transfer case rebuilt by Redline at the time of the tranny swap.
·Old Man Emu 2.5” heavy/heavy lift kit - 2010. Professionally installed by Predator 4x4 in Colorado Springs. Steering stabilizer, greasable shackles, new shocks, extended sway-bar links. The whole package.
·Powertrax locker installed in rear diff - 2010. This is no ordinary locker, it is a next gen auto-locker with a syncro, does not affect drivability on-road, but is always there for you off-road!
·Custom Redline dual-swing rear bumper - 2011. Holds spare, hi-lift, shovel, axe, hook points and two fuel cans with a 2” tow capability. Professionally built and powder-coated. Wiring harness installed to complete tow capability. All included!
·Heavy-duty front bumper with grill guard, hook points and heavy winch plate. Professionally sandblasted and powder coated to match new rear bumper.
·12,000 pound Titan winch with remote control capability! Canadian company, check them out!
·Five 33x12.5-15 BFG AT TA-KO tires. Only about 15K on them and they are on a 5-tire rotation, which means 20% more wear life. They are from Discount tire and all rotation and damage certificates are fully transferrable.
·Tires are mounted on five custom-built black spoked steelies, also from Discount with 4.5” backspacing.
·High-flow dual 2.5” exhaust from the downpipes back. Modern dual-in, dual-out Magnaflow single CAT and muffler. No more y-pipe, dual-CAT and exhaust wrapping around below the frame on the driver’s side that ALWAYS gets pinched by a rock.
·TLC4X4 expanded air intake with K&N filter. Between this breather and the opened up exhaust there is a significant gain in both power and mileage.
·Painless brand dual-battery system with driver-selectable isolation solenoid. Add in the blue top, deep-cycle, marine Optima battery and you will never need a jump!
·Completely replaced all battery cables with 0-guage cables, including all starting cables, grounding wires and second battery system.
·Upgraded lighting harness and replaced tired sealed-beam headlights with Hella H4 and H1 housings, allowing for replacement of bulbs.
·Rebuilt felt wipers on steering system.
·Redline replaced worn u-joints and professionally balanced both drive shafts - 2015.
·Man-A-Fre 3FE Firepower electronic ignition, with spare ignition module - 2009.
·Replaced radiator, hoses and water pump- 2012.
·Replaced Alternator - 2012.
·Replaced starter - 2012.
·Brand new Throttle Position Sensor - 2015.
·Rebuilt brakes and new rotors - 2015.
·New windshield - fall 2016.
·Brand new Idle Speed Control valve - 2016. Don’t overlook this! Most of these FJ62’s will idle high because this valve is BAD BAD BAD! Mine is a brand new FACTORY part shipped from AUSTRALIA. Idles like a purring kitten now!!!
·CruiserCrap sound deadening pad installed from the firewall back and over the rear wheel wells. Significantly decreases road noise.
·Replaced lift struts on rear window, no more getting hit in the head!
·Religiously changed oil, lubed all fittings and rotated all five tires every 5k miles. High capacity Wix 51773 filter and ZDDP zinc additive to protect the flat-tappet engine!
·Spare parts and a FACTORY repair manual (impossible to find in hard-copy) complete the package. I also have lots of manuals (engine, chassis, hubs) on PDF that I can email to you.
As with all 25+-year-old vehicles, not all is scotch and cigars. Here is a (short) list of the not-so-great:
·A few dings and dents, shown in the pictures, as well as some minor ‘Colorado pin striping’ on the sides. As expected from a used 4-wheeler. No fear in taking her ANYWHERE.
·Clear coat on the hood is roached. Parked in the sun while at work.
·Antenna no longer goes down. It is up and the radio works great!
·Two open spots in the carpet from the tranny swap. I cover up the shifter spot with a towel, but a FJ60 carpet set is not too expensive.
·Tear in left side of driver’s seat, every Cruiser has one!
Don't let this beast get away, she is ready to take to the mountains this summer!!! Listed locally, so I reserve the right to delete the listing at any time.
