1991 Toyota Tacoma Regular Cab Description

OK, here we go…this feels like I’m selling a family member. Up for sale is my 1991 4X4 Toyota Pickup; 152k, bulletproof 22RE engine. My family has owned this truck since the mid 90’s, and it has been doted on her since day one. It has been meticulously maintained and undergone some big preventative maintenance. When I was going through school, I befriended a Toyota engineer who actually helped design the truck. He helped me completely rebuild the transmission and replace the clutch as a school project (neither really needed to be done, as the truck only had 90k on it at the time). As a result, it shifts like a dream. The front-end is very tight as a result of mostly highway miles over its life. It is “stock” with the exception of some very smart/modest upgrades…these include: completely upgraded exhaust (header, larger pipe from front-to-back, Dynomax muffler, and new catalytic converter (has a very nice deep/subtle tone); those changes improved the power modestly. KYB shocks, Centerline Mag Wheels, alarm system, Pioneer stereo (with Aux. input and Pioneer speakers), and a PA system (complete with microphone and various sounds/music)….there are probably a couple things here and there I’m forgetting. The timing chain has been replaced, it has new starter with a lifetime warranty, and the wheel bearings have been replaced….many other smaller maintenance items to list. Air conditioning and heat works great. Does not have any oil or fluid leaks. The engine consumes a small amount of oil, which is normal for the engine/mileage. It has passed both California and Nevada smog tests. The drivetrain is as solid as you’ll find, and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive the truck across the country tomorrow. The body is in excellent shape for the age; there are some small scratches here and there and a decent scrape/dent near the driver side tail light, but the paint is quite good overall and there is zero rust (Nevada=no rain/humidity). The interior is also in excellent shape and has been upgraded to stock Toyota bucket seats; the driver side has the obligatory small hole that develops on the side vinyl (not on the upholstery). I can say with confidence that you will be hard-pressed to find a nicer truck of this era out there. It’s complimented all the time, and I’ve had many offers to sell it….which is something I had never planned on doing; however, we have a baby now and the priorities of yesteryear are completely out the window at this point J The prices on these are getting very high (just saw a similar truck go for over $8k on here), but I’m trying to price it modestly. There are cheaper ones out there, but not nicer…pay a little more now or a lot more later with a junker. This has been our third car for a long time, so I’m not looking for any kind of trade.
