1998 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab Description

This posting is for my 1998 Toyota Tacoma rock crawler. Entire truck was built by All-Pro and WFO concepts. The truck is in excellent condition and is extremely capable. Very low slung, incredibly stable and clears 40" tires with no rubbing issues whatsoever (has 38's on it now to make it freeway friendly). Very well maintained with regular oil changes in engine, trans, t-case, axles, etc. A/C works, heat works, radio works, no mechanical issues whatsoever. The truck has had a ton of hours put into fabrication, lots of very high end parts and is one of the most reliable rigs I've ever owned- even with it not being on one ton axles. Also, this rig is super light, even as you see it only tips the scales at 4400 lbs. Here is a list of what is done to it:
Drivetrain:
-At 130k, had full drivetrain rebuild/replacement. New low mileage JDM 2.7 Liter 4cyl 3rz motor installed with 30k-ish miles. No leaks from the entire drivetrain
-While engine was out, replaced original transmission with a new Marlin Crawler W59 HD 5 Speed.
-Marlin crawler TacoBox 4.7:1 low range box installed in front of the factory chain drive unit to maintain driver's drop for front axle. Just rebuilt with retrofit bearings (common failure point).
-Factory rear case had input bearings replaced and totally re-sealed.
-JE Reel drivelines front and rear
-Diamond front axle housing, Landcruiser high pinion center section with 5.29 cryo'd gears, Detroit locker, RCV Shafts, oversize trunion bearings on knuckles with dual piston brake calipers. Just had knuckles serviced with new felts, gaskets and wheel bearings done.
-Currie modular 9" rear housing with nodular 9" center section. 31 spline ARB, 5.38 cryo'd gears cro-mo shafts and wildwood brake calipers.
-Line lock e-brake
-Volant cool air intake (fully enclosed airbox, true cold air)
-Brand new exhaust manifold, new tubular style manifold that replaces cast iron manifold. OEM Toyota
-2.25" cat back exhaust with flowmaster hush power muffler (sounds pretty good actually- not very loud)
Suspension:
-All-pro SAS conversion kit. Aluminum lower control arms, tri link front with FOX reservoir coilovers and dual rate springs.
-IFS toyota steering box with All-pro high steer kit and track bar. New FK heims on steering. No play in steering at all- great highway feel as well.
-All-pro 3.5" rear expedition leafs with fox 2.5 large body shocks
-WFO Concepts rear anti-wrap bar (saves the driveline and springs from wrapping in compound low)
-WFO Concepts full belly skid plate with 3/8" steel plate running across undercarriage
Exterior:
-Hannemann fiberglass front fenders, painted to match and made to fit right.
-Full all pro exo cage, with additional tubes tying front bumper to fenders and sliders. Runs all the way down to the frame- super tight, clean cage.
-Bobbed bed by 8"
-All-Pro tube front bumper
-All-pro one off rear bumper (nothing special)
-All-pro Pack Rack (Aluminum- discontinued and IMPOSSIBLE to find)
-Custom made soft top with roll up sides, zippered rear tailgate and made from sunbrella. Really awesome top.
Electronics:
-50" Rigid industries light bar
-Warn XD9000i winch with synthetic rope
-ARB on-board air compressor (big compressor)
-Brand new Odyssey extreme series battery
-Pioneer double din touch screen stereo.
-Viper XV5900 Alarm system with remote start
-Kleinn 3 trumpet train horn with 1.5gal air tank and extreme duty compressor.
Wheels and Tires:
-Brand new 38" Yokohama geolander MT. Can clear 40's easily, and that's what I originally bought them with. Drives much better on the street with 38's though. Last picture for reference when it was on 40's.
-17" Walker Evans beadlock rims
Other goodies:
-Basically new ARB rooftop tent- $1200
-Basically new ARB 50 quart fridge- $800
-Extra set of track bar heims
-60" High lift extreme
-10LB Powertank system with carrying case
If interested, feel free to reach out with any questions. Entertaining best offers. Easily 60k worth of parts and labor into this build excluding the cost of the truck. Glad to show it to anyone locally in the Los Angeles area. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.
