2004 Toyota Sienna LE - no power steering
2004 Toyota Sienna LE Description
The power steering is broken. Nobody but me drives it while I am the legal owner. The buyer must get his new title at the Summit County Title Bureau in my presence on a Saturday.
I bought this van in Nov 2006 at 30k miles. It has never let us down. The windshield started cracking in 2006, it slowly progressed across the bottom, not in drivers line of sight, still cracked. In 2008, it was hit in the rear; it got a new bumper and bumper cover - no issues from that. It bumped a car in a parking lot on the passenger front - buckled the bumper cover and scraped the paint. I pushed out the cover, left the scrape. I slid off the road and hit a tree in 2016; crinkled the driver fender and broke of the driver mirror. Fender is still crinkled and now rusting. I installed a cheap low quality replacement mirror - it vibrates. It has two rusting dents in the driver rocker see pictures. No rust bubbles anywhere on the body. There are scratches and chips on both sides and the front. The interior is dirty but in good shape with no funky smells.
The exhaust is semi-loud/leaking but it does not throw a code. Once cruising at steady speed the sound not noticeable. I replaced the flex pipe years ago with a poor fitting universal unit, but I think the leak is elsewhere.
It comes with only one key and fob. The manual(s) are included. It comes with one hub cap and two front struts. I think the passenger front strut is bad. I clunks over bumps (on extension).
The heater fan vibrates loudly on high. I think it needs cleaned out. I never changed interior filter. The AC worked late last year, it may not work by now, I haven't tried it this winter.
It has DVD and JBL sound which work, though the DVD is finicky. The power door does not work, except manually. It has 100watt 120VAC power in the back. I has aftermarket heated front seats which don't work well. The lights, wipers, cruise all work, or did in October.
It has about 5k to 10k on new tires in summer 2015. I replaced the timing belt at around 95k; the only major work the van has seen in my ownership.
The underbody components and fasteners are very rusty. A power steering pressure line blew out last fall 2 miles from home. It cannot be patched with a rubber hose as I tried in the picture. The steering rack and fittings are severely rusted. I think it requires subframe removal to fix. I think the subframe bolts will snap off. I cut the drive belt off the power steering pump. The steering is very hard to use without power assist. It isn't safe to drive, no one gets to test drive it. I will give them a test ride in it and/or drive it to the title office. Otherwise it drives OK and normal. It pulls very slightly to the left. I could drive it hundreds of miles on the highway if I had too, but a small person may wreck it at slow speeds because the steering effort required is huge and requires forethought when turning corners.
I have the clear title. I will only take cash in person.
