2015 Sienna LE 958 miles! VMI Wheelchair Accessible Handicapped Conversion Van
2015 Toyota Sienna LE - Handicap VMI Conversion Description
2015 Toyota Sienna with VMI Northstar Access 360 Conversion. Vehicle brand new with only 958 miles. Bought December 2016 for parent in wheelchair. Top of the line vehicle with all options and a VMI Northstar 360 conversion, the ultimate conversion solution for wheelchair users and caregivers. Loaded with Satellite Radio, Backup Camera, Bluetooth, Rear Seats. Obstruction-free 30 inch doorway allows easy entry/exit for wheelchair and caregiver. Industry best headroom via 14.9 inch dropped floor. More room for interior maneuverability due to 12 inch longer floor. Comfortable rear row allows caregiver/passengers additional comfort with fold-down footrest. Location of rear row behind wheelchair also allows easy access to person in wheelchair. Unlike rear entry modifications, person in wheelchair doesn't sit by themselves in the rear of the vehicle. VMI Modification also also allows storage behind rear bench. Step up flares are color matched and have a 400 pound capacity to allow easy entry step access for entry and exit of both the driver and passenger. There are three buttons that will simultaneously open the passenger-side sliding door and deploy the ramp: one on the key fob, one near the door in the rear passenger area, and one on the vehicle's center console. This allows the door to be operated in nearly every circumstance. One useful feature of the VMI ramp system is another button near the steering wheel that allows the passenger side door to be opened without deploying the ramp, in the event that no wheelchair needs to be loaded. One button operation for wheelchair ramp: Automatically opens the passenger door, lowers the vehicle on the passenger side, ramp slides out. Easy access via 30 inch doorway, plenty of room with extended floor for wheelchair entry and easy positioning of chair. Floor tie downs for wheelchair security. Seat Belt for Person in Wheelchair. One button operation then allows ramp to recede back into vehicle below floor, vehicle rises, and passenger door automatically closes. The chief advantage of an in-floor ramp is that it doesn't intrude into the passenger area of the van when stowed. This leaves more room for people, doesn't limit front passenger seat travel, and also keeps the vehicle free of debris or moisture the ramp might pick up. VMI’s van is equipped with a lowering system dubbed Powerkneel that drops the passenger side a couple extra inches to allow for an 8.5-degree ramp angle, allowing wheelchair user onboard fairly easily, even with a manual chair. Center console is included and removable, floor was lowered to allow conversion. This vehicle is the simplest and easiest way to get a person in a wheelchair into a vehicle and to allow them to travel in complete comfort. Easy for the person in the wheelchair and easy to use for the care giver and passengers who have access to person in wheelchair.
