1987 Toyota Cressida Luxury Sedan 4-Door 2.8L
1987 Toyota Cressida MX73 Engine with 42,220 original miles Description
This notable classic was Toyota's pre-Lexus Lexus. The pinnacle of luxury in its day. Extremely low mileage, well maintained, 6 cylinder MX73 engine is considered one of the best ever built by Toyota. The 80's nostalgic velour seats and burgundy interior are near perfect. Although garaged, nearly age 30, it has predictable rust requiring work to be museum quality. Cruise, overdrive, climate control, AM/FM Cassette with power sunroof, windows and locks. This is a very rare and special car to a rightful owner. It needs someone who is a hobbyist or an enthusiast, an "aficionado" of vintage Japanese cars. While it can be driven as a daily car, to me, it is a Sunday pleasure drive. A get away, no need for Bluetooth or navigation leisure car. Pop in a cassette tape and enjoy the road less traveled. To you, probably modify with body trim, exhaust, and wheels for "drop dead" 80's Japanese sportster. I've had the car checked out by a Cressida expert mechanic. It does need about $800 of work. Time for seals, gaskets, bushings, distributor cap, spark plugs and brake calipers. In addition, the drivers retractable seat belt does need the module replaced and the hood needs new struts. The car was in one minor stop and go traffic accident in 1992 and all repairs were made. Other than that, it drives very well, with plenty of power. Tires and battery are new.
