2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder Manual 5-Speed Blue Convertible - Clean Driver, Rust Free
2000 Toyota MR2 Base Convertible 2-Door Description
I have for a sale a great MR2 driver.I just bought the car, but I found another MR2 in blue that is closer to the specs that I wanted, so I made the tough decision to sell this one and buy the other one, despite the hassle.Car is located in the Seattle, WA area (About 15 miles east of Downtown Seattle).
It's a 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder Manual 5-Speed 5MT Convertible in Spectra Mica Blue (Color Code 8M6) with stock 1zz engine. All power options (door, windows). A/C blows cold.No rust. Originally a California car, and then spent the rest of its life up here in Seattle. (We don't salt our roads here, so there are virtually no rusty cars here.)
ADDITIONAL PHOTOS
Additional photos (64 total) uploaded here, so please check those out. I can take specific photos upon request. http://imgur.com/a/S7CmCI can also take it to a nearby service center/dealer for a PPI on your dime if you require it.PROS:- Everything on the car is stock down to the gear knob, except for aftermarket 17x7" wheels and CD stereo with USB/iPod input.
- Tires are Kumho ECSTA AST in 205/40/17 all around: Rear tires are fairly new and plenty of life left; Front tires look about 75% life left
- Very healthy engine that does not burn oil and very smooth shifting transmission.
- Miles are almost all highway miles so engine is healthy and strong.
- Clear title and Clean Carfax / VIN History Report: No accidents, no salvage, no flood/water damage, no theft/vandalism.
- All body panels are original with VIN stickers intact.
- Convertible does not leak. Even through heavy downpour, no water enters the cabin. The side drain plugs have been cleaned out (you should do this annually-- that's why the side vents are missing in some photos, I will put them back on) and water tested to drain out as it should.
- Desirable blue on black color.
- Air Conditioner works well, blows ice cold. Heater works well.
- I just had the car detailed, including jams, engine bay, frunk, etc. - Lexol Leather conditioner/cleaner of steering wheel, Vinyl conditioning on all plastic parts, Rain-X on glass.
- Comes with 3 keys and 2 remote key fobs/alarm for keyless unlock/lock. Fresh batteries were put into the remotes this week.
- No check engine lights, no lights in dash, etc.-- will pass emissions with no issues at all. Again, it's bone stock, has all the 02 sensors and cats and heat shields, etc. so will pass emissions and visual check, even in smog nazi California.
- Great gas mileage for a sports car / convertible! Gets 40+ mpg on the highway. High 30s (36-39mpg) in mixed driving.
Recent work done:- New water pump (2015)
- New timing belt (2015)
- New clutch (2015)
- New spark plugs NGK BRK5E (3/2017)
- New intake air filter (3/2017)
CONS:- Being a driver (not a garage queen or collectible specimen), it has some nicks and scratches and chips in the paint/body.
- Cloth seats are a little worn at the bolster and on the cushion.
- Previous owner had some kind of stereo system/amp that was removed, but the wiring is still there under the seats and into the rear parcel shelf. You can yank it out or add your own system.
- Convertible in rear left was patched/stitched before. Again, a good job, as there is not a drop of water entry into the cabin.
- There is some rattling from the heat shield at 2500-3500 rpm that goes away when you're out of that rpm range: need to pin down and tighten them down.
- Front right fender liner is missing. It was like that when I bought it.
- Headlights plastic is a bit hazy-- very common issue with these cars. I did one round of cleaning with Meguirs PlastX, could probably use 3-4 more rounds of buffing to get it to be clear.
- Car has heavy tint on the windows and rear glass that's kind of purplish now. You might not like it. I like the added privacy from when car is parked, you can't see inside unless you're pressed up against the glass.
- Keep in mind that these cars are now 17 years old, so don't expect a perfect car.. It's a 17-year old used car that's been daily driven.
I believe I have represented the car condition as honestly as I could from my limited time with it and driving it. There is no warranty, explicit or implied, car is sold "AS-IS."
I am a private seller, not a dealer: I don't do this as a business. But I have sold and bought many cars via eBay so I know the process. Buyer is responsible for all costs of delivering/shipping the car. If you want to fly in and drive the car back, I can pick you up from the SEA Sea-Tac airport.
$500 Deposit via PayPal required upon successful auction closing or Buy-It-Now within 48 hours. Remainder to be due in 14 days and car arranged to be picked up in 14 days after closing. Please arrange your own transportation or shipping company to pick up the car: you are responsible for all costs. I will not give you the car, keys, and title until all monies are paid in full in cash or certified bank check or bank wire that clears. If you are buying remotely: title, documents and keys will be sent FedEx at no extra cost to you once payment clears.
Thank you for looking and good luck!
Added Info/Revisions:On the photos:
