2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 Double Cab 4WD TRD Description

For auction is a 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 4WD with the TRD off road package. This truck would be a great parts truck for a junkyard or automotive dealer, or for any mechanic looking to buy and flip a vehicle. I am the original owner, I purchased this truck from the Dealer in 2005 with only 2 miles on it, and I have put all 414,000 miles on this truck; virtually all of them being freeway miles. This truck has been my daily driver for almost 12 years now. As you can see, cosmetically the truck is in good shape, and it has been well taken care of with regular maintenance and oil changes. It has lots of interior cab space and it has the full length bed. I think there's one minor fender bender on the CarFax sheet, and the truck has a clean title with the pink slip in hand. Registration is paid and smog test passed. The interior is in good condition but does show some wear. The windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced. The transmission has approximately 100,000 miles on a rebuild, and most minor components like the master brake cylinder, starter, shocks, power steering unit, radiator, fuel pump, etc; have been replaced or rebuilt. Most items like the power windows, power sunroof, power rear slider, stereo, AC unit, etc; are still in good working condition.
Here's the caveat. The truck starts and runs, but it has an overheating issue that has just begun to show up, and it can only be driven for 15 - 20 miles before it starts to get hot. I took it in for a compression test and at 414,000 miles, the motor is tired and needs a head gasket replacement at minimum. This issue must be addressed, but Toyota wants $6000 for a new block, so I can't do it right now.
Here's where someone who needs a transmission or a chassis, or can rebuild a block comes in. If that's you, then this represents an opportunity to put in a new block and have a good truck to keep for yourself, or sell for parts. These trucks are becoming harder to find and blocks and transmissions are starting to be much sought after. The old engine block as a core is worth at least a thousand or two as is. Same value holds for the rebuilt transmission. The chassis complete with 4WD unit and fully operational brakes and tires is probably worth at least another 3 or 4 thousand as well. If you have the means, then this would be a great truck to drop in a rebuilt block and go. Or take what you need and part out the rest. With that said, place a bid and take it with you. If you have any questions that I didn't cover, please don't hesitate to ask.
Cash payment only. No shipping on this item. Buyer must take delivery. Sold as is with no returns. Clean title and pink slip in hand.
