2008 Toyota Sequoia Platinum Description

The good - What I have here is a 2008 Toyota Sequoia Platinum with a low 80,000 miles. I bought it a few years ago from a lady whose brother was the maintenance manager at the local Toyota dealership. It was well maintained and she only put 42k miles on it, I put the rest. She never towed anything and the hitch was still in shrink-wrap when I got it.

I have pulled a garden trailer (lawn mower) a few times, but it has never been really strained.

This car has the following:

-5.7 L V-8

-Tow Package

-Heated leather seats

-Traction Control

-Power sunroof/moon roof

-Power retractable side mirrors

-Power third row seats

-Parking lot anti-collision system

-Tow package, with transmission cooler and lighting hook-ups

-Dual Air conditioners (front and rear)

-Back-up camera, w/ retractable screen

-AM/FM/CD/MP3 6 disk changer

-Bluetooth Phone System

-Built-in garage door controller

-Heated leather seats

Since I bought this car, I have replaced the following:

-The timing belt

-Starter

-Power-side mirrors

-Brakes and Rotors

-Tires

-Window seals (they were dry-rotting)

-Parking sensors

-Wipers

Now the bad - twice (twice!) I have backed into things after turning off the anti-collision system in car washes. Once, I backed into a pole at the pet store. Another time I backed into a parked car at night. I have a quote of ~$1,550 to make the repairs (see attached). However, I decided to sell the car "As-Is" so that the new owner can decide if they would rather save a few bucks and deal with the damage or repair it. I took pictures of the damage so you can see for yourself. Also, there was a small split in the seam of the driver's seat that I had stitched up. It is fine, but you can see where I made the repair.

In sum: the car has a few cosmetic items, but I know of no mechanical issues.

So how did I arrive at my price????

I did my best to honestly evaluate the "trade-in value" using Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA. Here are the results:

Kelly Blue Book: $19,710

Edmunds: $21,125

NADA: $17,451

Average = ($19,710 + $21,125 + $17,710)/3 = $19,429 Average Estimated Value

Value less the damage quote = $19,429 - $1552 = $17,877 Sale Price
