1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-Door Description

THIS IS THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
Color: "Super White" Exterior / Grey Leather Interior
221,955 miles - No Lockers - Great candidate to customize or enjoy stock.
Your satisfaction is my highest priority - you will not be disappointed with this awesome 80 Series Cruiser. All information is 100% factual and the truth and nothing but the truth. I am an honest person and want to do business with an honest buyer. If you have less than 10 ebay purchases, you have to contact me before bidding - I will cancel your bid.It spent its entire life in Southern California (20 years), except for the last year (in Oklahoma). I flew out to Orange County last year and drove it back to Oklahoma - with zero issues - ran incredibly strong, got 14 miles to the gallon, steering tight, wheels aligned, super-smooth shifting, cruise working - it was a glorious trip - you can feel that this LC has been well maintained. The guy I purchased it from used it as his surf rig - still has the Dakine Aero Rack Pads on it (I like how they look).
Run the CARFAX to confirm all the info here is accurate and credible. This is not a Northern Rust Bucket - this one will run for another decade or more.I owned a 1992 that ran for over 400k miles before I sold it.
Best color combo for the 80's series - White Exterior / Grey Leather Interior

  • Tinted windows
  • Toyota tools & jack
  • A/C is super cold, Heat is super hot - rear heat blower works perfectly
  • Brand new Sony touchscreen DVD/CD/ with 2 AUX inputs - comes with remote + alpine speakers in front doors, all other speakers are stock - but sound is really good with new unit (cost: $650)

  • All electronics work - including all windows (passenger side front goes up a little slower than the rest - but works good), moonroof - open, close, tilt - all like new, all dash controls and buttons work perfectly, antenna goes up and down, rear heater works, interior lights all work, side mirror left and right controls work perfectly, clock keeps perfect time, cruise functions perfectly, nothing electronic is broken or damaged, power seats function perfectly, lumbar support works perfectly, tilt works perfectly for both driver and passenger sides, rear wiper, window washers (both front and rear - good), hazards, brights, everything.
  • Motor runs incredibly strong, transmission shifts smoothly and perfectly, 4-wheel drive functions flawlessly - but I've never used it off-road
  • All interior doors in excellent cosmetic shape - no tears, no rips - look great
  • Exterior has minor dings, small chips and normal wear and tear - overall, paint looks really good - still has a shine, no major issues (all concerns are listed below), no sun damage or areas that are faded. I have not waxed it, but a good wax job would make it look even better.
  • Interior - no rips, no holes, beautiful grey leather, backseat and third row are 9.5 out of 10 - barely used. Front seats are in 9 out of 10 condition - shockingly nice. Interior was redone by previous owner
  • No rust - California Vehicle for 20 years, only recently taken to Oklahoma (9 months ago).
  • I just purchased a Lexus GX470 - so the LC has to go. :(
Full disclosure - there are 8 minor items (below) you need to know about:Pics show highlighted exterior / interior issues that I wanted to point out:
  • Surface Rust on roof by driver-side rear corner (owner before me surfed and water pooled)
  • Driver side rear hatch - small area of damage on bottom of lift gate.
  • Small indentations on driver side door and driver side passenger door (paintless dent repair possible)
  • On passenger side hood - small indentation right where the hood begins (closest to grill) - paint missing in a 2.5 inch thin line
  • Driver side front seat - very left edge - grey leather has been worn down just a little bit and is showing lighter on the seam - super minimal
  • Dash shows some sun-stress area, very small crack, but no major cracks. Still in really good shape.
  • Small green illumination around the "D" for drive (on the dash) does not light up - all others light up.
  • LandCruiser name plate on rear hatch is cracked, but looks good and you don't notice it unless you get close
  • ------Price of LC is based on these minor flaws------
None of these items bothered me and I purchased the cruiser with all of them. 21 year old cruiser - incredible shape for its age.

    Additional Info:
In 1996 all models took on ABS and air bags as standard equipment. Only the van series came with the standard GX grade only, and all grades had a widened body. The 80-series continued to get larger and more luxurious until it was eventually replaced in 1998 with the debut of the 100-series Land Cruiser. The transition to the next generation was made when the 80-series still enjoyed a high level of popularity, much the same as had happened earlier when the 60-series made way for the 80-series Land Cruiser. However, luxury has not softened the Land Cruiser. It has not sacrificed its ability to take on the toughest roads the world has to offer. No matter that it is more comfortable and luxurious to ride in, the Land Cruiser remains the Land Cruiser, which is the reason for its lasting popularity.

Cargo nets on back of front seats are tight, not sagging like most you see. When seats were redone, these were also redone.
