2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 2WD
2006 Toyota Tundra Texas Edition Description
Texas Flood title, we'll get that out of the way first. It was flooded in 2008 with 27,000 miles. I bought it in 2009. I had to replace the passenger rear door glass, and the back window. I have found no other issues from the flood damage other than a slight musty odor when it rains for days on end. I suspect it had the windows broken out, and then it received some rain. The truck still has its original engine and transmission, that I have put almost 100,000 miles on since I bought it, so I'm certain no water entered either one. I pulled the carpet back at the edges looking for signs of standing water or sand/dirt etc, and it all looked as it should from the factory.
I replaced the timing belt and water pump with OEM Toyota parts at 110,000. It has Pacesetter long tube headers with 3" collectors. They feed into the stock cats, that I cut to match the 3" exhaust pipe, and those feed into a 3" x-pipe, and then out to dual 3" mufflers that exit behind the Passenger rear tire. The drivers side rear O2 sensor was relocated a little further back to accommodate the headers, and I built an extension harness for the sensor, so a stock sensor will plug right in if it ever has to be replaced. The exhaust sounds pretty mean at full throttle, and is nice and mild when cruising.
I also bypassed the secondary air injection system when I installed the headers, as they had no provision for the air manifolds.
Other than regular oil changes (I use Eneos full synthetic oil and Toyota filters), it has been completely trouble free. Everything works as it should, although AM reception on the stock radio is flaky, due to a bad antenna wire. It has a break in the wire near the antenna.
The body has a couple of issues, as seen in the pics. The major problem is the crease below the drivers side rear taillight. It went down to bare metal. The Passenger side has the same damage but it's not nearly as bad. Overall the truck has your typical wear and tear for a vehicle it's age (scratches, door dings, etc.), and it has collected several hail dents mainly on the hood and roof. The paint is in pretty good shape otherwise, and is still shiny with no oxidation, or other sun damage, as the truck was mostly garage kept.
The interior is in good shape, no rips or tears in the seats, and even the drivers seat is in good shape.
It runs great, AC blows cold, and it's ready for the next owner to enjoy it. The truck is available for inspection just about anytime, just message me and we can work out the details. The truck is sold as-is, and there is no warranty. Buyer is responsible for arranging transport, or pick-up, and all associated costs.
