OK,2004 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab, 4x4, 5 speed manual. SR5, TRD.I'm the original owner, bought new in July 2004. This was used primarily as a commuter vehicle, (highway miles) but was used within it's design limits. It has towed and carried whatever, when needed. It is used, but not abused.Only synthetics were used throughout its life, oil and filter every 5000, all else yearly.1st timing belt and etc at 80,000, 2nd at 175,000.Engine does not use oil or leak coolant, at this time.It was never in an accident.Toyota replaced the frame at around 160,000, I think, warrantied TO ME for 15 years from date of original purchase. No secondary purchaser warranties were or are offered. They DID NOT however replace any of the other items underneath, so there are other corrosion issues developing.Upon the new frame installation I installed an ARB Bull Bar front bumper (NO WINCH) and a Shrockworks rear bumper. See pics.4 newer (less than 5000 miles) Winterforce Snow tires on FJ Cruiser 17" wheels. This is a beast in snow. If you get stuck, maybe consider a horse.Hard cover over bed installed when new.
So begins the bad..1- Rear axle is corroded and weeps, using about 3 squirts of lube every 2 to 3 weeks. It will need to be replaced eventually.2- The front end has a shimmy/vibration at about 50 mph per hour, but is over 200,000miles OEM, so work will be needed there. I priced ALL PARTS, including drive axles, (1 known bad), bearings, joints etc at about $1200, plus labor. (normally I do these things myself, but don't really need this vehicle anymore, so I'm not) And no, I won't do it for you.3- Windshield is cracked all the way across (pic) and will need replacement.4- There is corrosion forming around the windshield and will need to be addressed.5- Interior is dirty, and drivers side seat worn.6- A/C cold but HVAC controls have issues, only hi-speed fan.7- Radio works but CD eject button broken and won't eject.8- A couple of dashboard lights burned out.9- Engine has squeal on start up, like a PS pump loose, or maybe something else.10- Check engine light on for a MAF sensor, according to my reader.
Again, thanks for looking at this auction.
