Runs great, a few dings here and there. I have owned it since 2004. It has always been a reliable truck. The only reason I'm selling it is because I bought a 2017 Tacoma in December. Truthfully, I probably should have just kept this T100 in many ways I like it more than the Tacoma.
Last year I replaced the upper and lower front control arms. The lower control arms were very rusty, which is common for these trucks. At the same time I replaced the front shocks and sway bar bushings. The frame is solid, just showing some surface rust.
I have a new set of rear shocks which I have not installed, they of course will come with it.
I black plastic-dipped the emblems and wheels a few years ago and also the hood. I also put matte black sign vinyl over tailgate T-100 panel an a thin strip of it covering the chrome insert on the body molding.
I have a short video of the truck running I can send it to you if you want.
Pluses:
Hirschmann BMW M-1 roof mount antenna
Hella twin horns
I fixed the infamous sometimes-not-starting-clicking of starter relay several years ago, I'll try to remember how I did it. Since then it has always started 100% of the time.
Coverking Tactical seat covers with Molle velcro backing including Molle packs (small rip on original drivers side seat-under the seat covers)
I rebuilt the rear bumper cover a few years ago with fiberglass and sprayed it with bedliner, looks really good.
Back Rack truck rack sprayed with bedliner and has stainless steel bolts/hardware ($$)
Recent (few years) exhaust and catalytic converter
Hardwired Passport Escort wire in rear view mirror housing
Alpine Bluetooth stereo with iPhone connectivity
Weather Tech floor mats and door vent visors
Customized front crash bar sprayed with bedliner. (I welded extensions on the mounts to make it fit on this T-100). I get comments on this a lot because I have never seen another on a T-100.
Hella 500 driving lights (come on with high beams)
Ultra Gauge Computer included
RI Inspected till 6/2018
Clean RI title in my name
I'm probably forgetting some things, I will update as I remember them.
Minuses:
The aforementioned dings and dents (I used this truck a lot during the years I have owned it)
Rust spot over passenger front wheel
The airbag light has been on for a few years. I think this happened when I installed the radio because I read that might happen if you do not disconnect the battery before installing.
Broken drivers front exterior door handle (replaced it twice with an aftermarket non-OEM handle next time I would get a OEM from Toyota)
Dent in bed middle (only visible from underneath)
Rusted seized spare tire carrier
Hella light covers cracked from UV light
A few of the a/c heat vent tabs cracked when I took them out to clean the truck. It appears that you can get a separate little tiny piece that snaps onto the tab I think? Sorry I just wanted to make sure the truck was nice and clean
Broken wheel stud on one of the wheels. Have replacement new from Toyota, just haven't had time to install it
Conclusion:
In my opinion this T-100 would be great with just a little bit of body work and paint this truck would be all set to go for many more miles.
