1989 Toyota MR2 Supercharged Description

I'm selling my 1989 Toyota MR2 Supercharged. The supercharged models are rare, only offered in '88 and '89 in the US. It is a factory supercharged chassis, not a swap. '89 was the last year of the AW11 MR2 and thus the most revised year. It is the only year with a factory rear sway bar and LED 3rd brake light. This car currently has 122k miles on it. It is a blast to drive, handles like its on rails. MK1 MR2s are commonly considered street legal gocarts.

On to the details of this car. Ill start with the good:

Fully functioning A/C converted to R134a!!

Fully functioning cruise control (set button broken and replaced with generic button) (waiting for another stalk to pop up on ebay)

Nearly fully optioned, only missing black leather interior. Has power windows, locks, and mirrors, all fully functioning

New tires in June '16 (Genera Altimax, cheap, but great for everyday driving)

Toyota reliability, has been my daily since September '16

Brand new floor mats from Twos R Us

Previous owner had car repainted in August '10

Previous owner also had engine rebuild in 2012 at Joes Auto, but they have closed down and I have no receipts for that

Driver door an side skirt have been replaced and repainted by American Collision (I bought it with damage to both parts damaged, previous owner never said what happened, but it appeared like he slid sideways into a light duty pole. Can provide pictures of the damage before it was fixed)

Vehicle is painted white. The black two tone is based off of the "Panda" AE86 Corolla. It was done with high quality 3M 1080 vinyl by me when I worked as an installer at a graphics shop.

Suspension was redone in January at 118,000 miles

Ground Control Coilovers with Ebiach springs

200lb front 250lb rear

Prothane polyurethane bushings

Techno Toy Tuning tension control rods

Front tie rods

Twos R Us rear tie rods

All ball joints replaced

TRD Stage 2 Alignment except for front camber

All hydraulic clutch components replaced

Exedy master cylinder (July '16)

Twos R Us extended push rod (January '17)

Slave cylinder was rebuilt in January '17 with a Toyota rebuild kit then replaced with an Aisin OEM slave cylinder in April '17

Clutch used to bleed down over time (not like at a red light, but many weeks) and has been fixed

Other parts replaced:

Bosch fuel pump installed in March '13

New OEM parking brake cables (June '13)

New OEM weather strip (November '14)

Belts replaced in January '15 along with rebuilt alternator, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, and rebuilt distributor

Other mods:

Twos R Us short shifter and drop plate

Twos R Us engine lid gas strut

Amazon Carbon Fiber shift knob (screw on, not the cheap kind that pinch the shift lever and real carbon)

Glow shift boost gauge

The bad (things that prevent this car from being 100% perfect):

Car was painted by fact-o-bake in August '10

Engine leaks oil (pretty sure its valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket)

Exterior C-Pillar trim missing

Front ride height is higher than factory (known and well documented issue with the ground control coilovers)

First and second gears are notchy (probably syncros)

T-Tops leak conditionally (heavy rain or opening door and seal gets wet)

Exhaust is in pretty bad shape. It's a Pace Setter with no cat. Can hear exhaust leak and rattles at certain rpm

Drivers window motor gear is missing a tooth

Headlight "eyebrows" broke while I was removing them. I still have them, but it would probably be easier and cheaper to replace them.

Included parts:

OEM shift knob used

OEM windshield top trim brand new with receipt from Toyota

Extra set of OEM "teardrop" wheels (two bent and need to be straightened)

Used windshield wiper switch (intermittent function and return to bottom doesn't work on the one installed)

Custom tire rack that mounts over engine bay

Custom fog lights (need to be installed and wired)

-Nilight 2.5" projectors

-Xentec 55w 6000k HID bulbs

-OEM rear defroster switch

Tons of additional parts available separately and can be negotiated in:

Supercharged engine with auto transmission (nearly complete)

Sparco 15" rims w/o tires

Motegi 16" rims and tires w/ less than 1000 miles

Complete Passengers door

Hood

2 trunk lids

2 engine lids

Multiple sets of side skirts

Full set of factory '88 MR2 shocks (missing rear sway bar and 1 top mount)

Set of MK1A Two tone seats

Many other interior, exterior, and suspension parts

UPDATES:

Just read the auto check report. The "Accident" that's being reported was a rub against another car that scratched the wrap. This is well documented.
