2005 Toyota Prius Description
This car has been awesome! It has paid for itself in the amount of fuel expense it has saved us over the last few years. We are only selling it because we were offered a newer model (surprisingly does not get near the 55-60 mpg fuel economy this one does). It very easily gets over 50 mpg if you stick to the speed limit, and gets over 60 mpg as shown in the last photo if you actually put some effort into driving it gently to maximize economy. It now hardly gets driven enough to justify keeping it, so here it is! We still have the mount for the front license plate and it is very easy to reinstall if required in your state. Just let me know if you need/want it on and I will put it back on for you in advance. Thanks for your interest, and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the vehicle. Good luck bidding!
THE GOOD:
High Voltage Hybrid Traction battery unit replaced at 200k miles. These are the only major cost of Prius maintenance ($3000+) and I have already done it for you, which means you shouldn't have to worry about it for another 150k-200k miles!
New Optima 12V battery installed at 200k miles along with the High Voltage battery pack.
Meticulously maintained with 5w30 Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.
Paint looks good for its age (minimal oxidation, only on the spoiler).
Still has clear paint protectant film on the fenders and mirrors from the original dealer.
Pioneer DVD/MP3/USB stereo unit with touchscreen, backup cam, and Bluetooth.
HID headlights and LED fog lights (should never have to replace!).
Very nice custom fit Husky Liner floor mats and cargo mat to protect the carpet from rain/mud/snow/spills (was $300 for the set).
Tires are good, only about halfway on tread depth.
THE BAD:
Car has never been wrecked, but it has been lightly bumped by people backing out in parking lots twice. There is a small mark and/or dent on either back fender area as can be seen in the photos. Hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it, especially on a 12 year old vehicle.
The tint on the windows is not perfect. There is a small knick in the tint of the rear driver side window and an even smaller one you can barely see on the rear window tint. Again, this is not a big deal and just in the interest of disclosing everything to you. A tint job would fix it for cheap anyway if it did bother you, just never bothered me.
The armrest on the driver door and the center console show some wear as you can see in the photos. Very typical for the second generation Prius cloth interior.
