1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40
1976 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
Bought FJ40 from tree farm 3 years ago and was going to rebuild it with my son so it can be his when he can drive. It turns out he does not want it because it is manual transmission. So, what did we do to it:
1. Cut all rust out and welded all steel in its place.2. Newer tires3. Relined gas tank4. Rebuilt locking hubs5. New brake shoes all the way around (including parking break).6. New front calipers7. New Tie Rods (and then had it realigned)8. POR15 painted on frame9. Made it so all the lights worked and new light fixtures where needed.10. New radiator11. New hoses, new fluids (including tranny, gear box, TC, Rear differential etc.,)12. Rebuilt gear box13. Omni Pak ignition system (starts easier and burns fuel more efficiently)14. OEM Paint color (I did painting my self. It is an OK job ot a good job for my first time but there are runs in paint)15. Rebuilt Holley carburator and comes with Downey air filter (rare)16. Installed amplifier for music and radio (has BOSE speakers on roll bar)17. New stabilizer and shocks18. New muffler19. Original engine with 81,000 blew and I just installed a 1986 2F FJ60 motor with 89,000 miles in it. Engine was gone through and painted with ceramic paint.20. New Master Brake Cylinder21. New Master Clutch Cylinder22. New Distributor cap, wires, Points and ignition coil23. Has 4 speed transmission with an OverDrive (rare) - this allows you to drive faster than other FJ40's without taxing motors.
Some things not shown ion picture is that driver side seat is not original and is a cadilac seat and the passenger seat is original and has tears on it. Has a small pencil eraser size ding on windshield (has been there for years), has dent on left side front hood can see a little of it on the picture. Has some cracks in the metal on bottom of door and 2 cracks on dashboard.
Can drive now on the road and can pass any safety inspection. Reserve right to end auction early as it is posted locally for sale. Get your chance to own a beutiful rig that is road worthy and has alot more years of enjoyability. You are pretty much getting and old car that has been fully updated. AS you know these FJ40's are going up in price and are a collectors item.
Shop around and compare this FJ40 to others and you will quickly see that this is the best price out there for a FJ40 with this much work done on it. I also have a roof rack that I would part with as well if interested. These are hard to find and very valuable.
