1968 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

This car is a joy to drive and gets a lot of attention wherever it goes. I have owned it for 8 years. Less than 3000 miles since complete mechanical rebuild. 2017 cc (78.4x90.5) engine with all new parts. New Dellorto DLRA 40 carbs, electric fuel pump, A1 exhaust, external oil cooler and filter. New clutch and professionally rebuilt transmission with welded synchros and superdiff. The bigger engine is very smooth and is easier to drive in modern traffic and requires much less downshifting. New steering box, tie rods ends, bearings, front disk brakes, tires, etc. New pans, left heater channel, and both convertible rails. Possibly new or perfectly restored BN2 gas heater (I have never used it) and aftermarket air conditioning which was working when removed from a previous car but is not currently charged with freon. I like the look of the unit under the dash. Aftermarket tach and oil temp gauge, excellent Nardi wooden steering wheel, and new upholstery and carpets.
