2002 Volkswagen Jetta Description
This VW Jetta has been a very reliable car. It is still going strong and getting GREAT (48-50 mpg+) gas mileage. I have owned it for 9 years and have had regular maintenance done as needed.
Mechanically it needs nothing to keep on going. Tires are 4 years old and about 60% tread. New front brakes were done December 2015.
Everything works and there are no warning lights on. I have 2 keys (remote control fobs) and they both work. One of them is like new.
Included is a 6-cd changer that was an option. It goes in a little compartment in the trunk.
It is clean inside, with no rips or tears to the seats.
The body shows its age however. Three out of four fenders above the wheels show rusting. In one spot it has rusted through. It does not affect its operation of course. The remainder shows typical nicks etc. for a car that is 14 years old.
A body shop or handy person can fix these easily.
The radios (XM and VHF) you may see in the photos are not included.
BIDDING AND PAYMENT: Do not bid if you do not intend to pay. The car must be paid in full before being picked up or by prior arrangement with me. Do not expect to reduce the winning bid when you get here. If you have trouble meeting these conditions please email me and we will see what we can do. Payment by PayPal, Bank Check or cash only. Title is free and clear and I will sign it over to you at time of pick-up.
The vehicle can be shipped but the winning bidder has to arrange everything.
Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
On Sep-11-16 at 14:35:19 PDT, seller added the following information:UPDATE 9/11/16: Four photos were added that show all four fenders, as requested. There is no rusting of the frame, it is only the sheet metal over the wheels as shown. If you google Jetta fender rusting you will see that it is a known flaw in their body design. Unfortunately this appeared after the 12-year warranty expired.
The car was never smoked in.
Other major maintenance done by me includes: timing belt replacement, water pump replacement, rear bearing replacement, and catalytic converter replacement.
