1979 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

I have owned this car for the past 20 years and it has been garage kept for the entire time I've owned it.The engine was replacedwith a rebuilt turn key1776cc engine from GEXthatI hadrebuilt again by Don's Sport Vehicle with dual Weber carbs, Engle cam, counterweighted crank, Empi heads, Empi oil pump with filter, Empi external oil cooler with electric fan, Scat extended sump, and Pertronix electronic ignition.
The transaxle was rebuilt by Norris Racingwith the installation of the Super Differential, a stronger 3rd and 4th gear with 4th gear being a freeway flyer gear for lower rpm's on the freeway, and a reinforcing plate between the transaxle case and nosecone. The clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were also replaced with the rebuild along with replacing and repacking the cv joint boots.
The front end bushings, and shift coupler bushings were replaced with new silicon bushings along with the shift rod bushing. The front end was lowered one inch by replacing the coil springs with Topline Sport + springs and Bilstein struts. A larger Empi front sway bar, Empi strut tie bar, and rear sway bar were also installed. The rear shocks were replaced with Bilstein shocks.
When I replaced the brakes I did an overhaul of the system; including drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, hoses, and master cylinder.
The top, padding, headliner, and seals were replaced by Shelby Auto Trim.
The car is solid with only one rust area under the battery which can be seen in one of the pictures I've included in my ad. The passenger side rear quarter window does not roll up and down because the window lift channel broke at the connection with the window crank handle, but I am including a new window lift channel and seal in the sale. There is also a five inch cut in the driver's side seat.

I do have the original wheels if your not a fan of the Anson slotted mags that you see in those pictures. Whenever I removedorreplaceda part I kept the original parts.I havethe air conditioning components that were not functional when I bought the car, the original1600cc engine that won't idle and needed a rebuild, the originalsteering wheel, shifter, and original front sway bar. If your interested in these original parts too, let me know and we can work out a price. Right now the auction is for the car only with whichever wheels you'd prefer.
