This VW Jetta tdi has been a great car. Fantastic mileage in a safe and sporty sedan. Unfortunately the car needs transmission work and it's time to sell.
This car is still in good shape for its age. The engine starts easy and runs great. The leather is in nice shape with no major wear or tearing. The paint has minor scratching and wear fitting for the age. The car has fairly nice aluminum wheels. The front tires are grea, the rear tires have uneven wear on the inside edge due to bad struts (the struts have been replaced since). The timing belt and water pump were replaced recently. The dual mass flywheel was replaced approximately 10,000 miles ago. The car has a trailer hitch with wiring as well as heavy duty rubber floor mats.
The transmission is the 6 speed DSG 02E. I don't know for sure what is wrong. It had always worked perfectly until we were returning home from a very long road trip. All of a sudden it dropped to first gear (from 3rd) and stayed in 1st. The PRND shift indicator now flashes and it will do 1st gear when cold and nothing when hot. We have another car to replace it so tho little beauty must go. Fix the dsg, put in a manual trans, or just use the fantastic diesel engine for another project. You must pick up the car from Ft. Garland Colorado 81133. Again this is not drive able, it will need to be towed with at least a two wheel car dolly.
