1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

You are bidding on a 1974 Super Beetle. I purchased this a little over a year ago for my teen-aged daughter, but didn't have a lot of free time to address everything. I purchased a disc brake upgrade kit, which I installed as well as replaced ball joints. The car starts and has moved around the driveway, but will stall when I take my foot off the gas.
I am a car guy and own several cars that I work on myself, but I know absolutely nothing about Beetles and don't have much of an interest in them. As such, I would highly recommend inspecting the car in person.
The car has the following upgrades:
Disc Front Brake Kit ($500, installed 2015)
Hunter Steering Wheel
Aftermarket rims
The following things are apparent:
Dash is cracked (brand new dash cover has been installed
Front seats are in rough shape
Tires are old
Car will stall at idle.
Fuel fill hose is old and cracked
Small dent on hood with some surface rust
Small areas of surface rust in various parts of the body
Various rubber parts are old
Left-rear tail light has a piece of plastic missing
The car comes with some spare parts that were in it when I bought it to include new suspension bushings in their packaging and various gaskets.
The previous owner sold it after a divorce and claimed to have done extensive work to it within the last 4 years. The vehicle has been registered in non-operational status since I've owned it, so there are no back registration fees due. As I said, I know nothing about Beetles (including how to identify what engine is in it), but I'm happy to take pictures of any area of the car and send them. I have a reserve set at $1000 (which is FAR below what I paid for the car last year and for the parts I installed).
The car starts and runs and was driven around my driveway on the date of listing.
The car is being sold where is, as is, with no warranties implied. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping. The car is not road legal as is and needs work to return it to full, driving condition.
