1993 Volkswagen EuroVan Weekender Description

This is a collectors item. They do not make or import it anymore. This van is awesome. We do not want to sell but have to. Now that our kids are bigger we do not use that much anymore. Would like to see it go to a person or family who loves it as much as we do.
We purchased it used in 2009 from J.D.B. Imports in Colorado. This guy is awesome and specializes in water cooled, VW Camper Vans. I flew out there from Brenham Texas and drove it back. It had 135,00 miles when we picked it up and it now has 180,470 mostly highway. We have taken very good care of it and since then it has had a new head gasket job, aftermarket cruise control installed, new re-built transmission and clutch, new tires, recent brake job, new coolant ball reservoir. New A/C parts.
All the work done to it has been done by The Bug Clinic in Bryan, TX. They specialize in VW's and European cars. Theycan give you extensive information about the van.
The Eurovan is rated at 17 m.p.g. city/21m.p.g. highway. The MV comes with two rear facing seats. Two buckets behind the driver and front seat passenger face the rear of the minivan. The Eurovan is powered by a 2.5-liter, 109-h.p. 5-cylinder engine teamed with a 5-speed manual transmission. Considering the Eurovan tips the scales at more than 4,000 pounds, the 109 h.p. is a herd of horses. The 5-speed is a short throw, very smooth unit.

From that first Microbus in 1949, the VW multipurpose vehicle has been a maverick catering to those who march to a different drummer.

Actually, the vehicle fell out of favor when the name was changed to Vanagon -referring top part van/part wagon.

The MV comes with those rear-facing second row of bucket seats. With a table top that pops out of the vehicle`s side wall, you now have a setup for a meal or a card game for nomadic travelers or vacationing campers.

While most minivans offer fixed or only pop-open-a-crack side rear windows, the Eurovan side rear windows slide wide open for ventilation for the card players and vacation travelers.

The third rear bench seat slides forward, and the back fully reclines so that once the card game is over, you and a cohort or two can take a nap. Directly behind the third seat in the cargo hold there`s also a mattress so one more weary traveler can take a snooze.

That rear cargo hold mattress rests on top of what appears to be cabinets reached by opening the garage door hatch lid. Two large bins with security doors flank a suitcase compartment under the mattress. Some design engineer with a love of travel and the outdoors obviously drew from first-hand experience to accommodate so much stowage capacity.

Standard equipment includes the rear-facing seats ( they are removable), pop-up rear table, sliding side windows, power brakes and steering, rear window wiper/ washer/defroster, dual front/rear seat air-conditioning/heating, AM-FM stereo, CD player w/ AUX, dual power outside mirrors, 225-55-r17 tires, 17 " Audi aluminum rims, towing package, limo tinted glass, intermittent wipers, digital clock and trip odometer, driver- and passenger-side vanity mirrors, cup holders in the glove box/front door pockets/rear side panels, body-color bumpers and side and rear snap-in curtains. The engine is a 2.5, 5 cylinder manual engine.

Weekender package includes pop-up top with sleeping for two added passengers to convert Eurovan into a tent on wheels. The package also offers refrigerator and auxiliary battery, to name just a few items.

For uniqueness and families opting for low-cost motoring vacations Hunters, fishermen, snowmobilers and off-road bike enthusiasts probably will also be the ones whohelp to contribute to Euro van's cult status, the same enjoyed by the old VW Microbus.
These are very rare and were only imported for a short time. They are hard to find in this good of condition.
