2008 Volkswagen Touareg V10 Twin Turbo Diesel
2008 Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI Loaded Description
2008 VW Touareg V10 TDI - Black exterior, tan interior.
Twin Turbo Diesel! For those of you familiar, you know this is a unique and amazing ride. 2008 was the last year the V10 diesel was sold in the US because they couldn't get emissions certified in California, so they went with the V6 diesel engine instead in 2009 and later years. This is basically the same vehicle as the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. Only VW offered the V10 diesel. Used V10's can be registered in CA.
This thing is rocket ship! 553ft-lb of torque and 310 horsepower. It is a dream to drive. Doesn't even downshift when heading up the hill to Flagstaff. On top of the power, it gets great gas mileage. 20mpg all day long. Mid-20's close to 30 if you are lighter on the gas pedal. This car was loaded when I bought it. Every bell and whistle they offered was on this suv.
I am the original owner and always dealer serviced. Brakes are new. Only modification is that I put 18" Cayenne wheels on it. Very few tires are available in the std 19" size and plus, with the 18" wheels, I was able to put all terrain Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires on it. Gives it a great stance and more capable off road. Used it to pull a small pop-up trailer camping. Hardly even knew the trailer was there. VW had a video of it pulling a 747 jetliner if that is any indication of it's true capabilities. Never taken it extreme off roading. You'll be able to tell, it is immaculately kept. Do some research if you aren't familiar. The Touareg is a real sleeper. Amazing off-road and on-road capabilities that few are familiar with. Never wrecked. Never smoked in. Always garaged and covered parking when I used to work at an office.
I love this vehicle. It has been great. I am only selling because new work adventure requires having a truck and I have too many vehicles to keep another. My loss, your gain! You won't find many of the V10 diesels for sale as the run forever and people love them and rarely part with them. Very solid vehicle. No rattles unlike a Ford or Chevy of this vintage, and I'm a Ford guy. The V6 is underpowered for this solid of a vehicle and you'll get better gas mileage with the diesel. There is no comparison. Get it while you can, I don't expect this to last very long.
Serious inquiries only, I am not desperate to sell and will not accept low ball offers. Sorry for the disclaimer, but Craigslist attracts those type of people. If the ad is posted, the vehicle is still available. No need to email me to ask if it is available.
