1999 Volkswagen EuroVan GLS Custom Camper Description

Very clean and great-running VW Eurovan GLS with low miles and one-of-a-kind stealth camper conversion. This custom camper has a collapsible seat and folding mattress from an '01 VW Winnebago camper. They create a flat, comfortable, 6'2" bed, plus there's an RV table that can be set up either inside or outside the van. Curtains are also included and may be installed with Velcro tape. This van has the VR6 engine, rebuilt automatic transmission ($$$), PS, PB, PDL, PW, ABS, air bags, front and rear heater and cold AC, climate control, power mirrors, premium AM/FM stereo with cassette and 6-stack CD player with six speakers, MP3, rear wiper and defogger, intermittent front wipers, outside-temperature digital readout, tachometer, digital clock, daytime running lights, lighted vanity mirrors, alloy wheels, tinted windows (privacy glass in rear), rear 12V power outlet, cup holders, owner's manual, removable side-window vents. Not working: keyless remote, cruise control, heated seats, ignition accessory switch. 136,900 miles.
The van’s body and paint are in very good condition. As is the case with many ’90s’ paint jobs, there’s been some clear-coat failure in places. The worst was the roof, which I’ve had repainted, and it’s not a perfect match. There are a few isolated areas besides that but they’re not widespread. Please note the tailgate photo that shows the worst of the clear-coat failure above the license plate and some minor scratches in the paint below the wiper. The body is sound throughout, no rust. There’s a slight scrape on the left rear wheel well that is shown in the photos, and there are minor door dings with one bigger one on the tailgate (photo).
This has been my surf van for the last 7+ years, but I can't surf anymore so I'm letting it go. You won't find one like it, especially in this condition. I've done the following significant repairs (with miles since): valve-cover gasket (300); new rear brakes and wheel alignment (450); six new fuel injectors and intake-manifold gasket (500); exhaust system (3600); ignition coil (3600); heater core (5600); purge valve (6000); head/valve job (9500); drive-belt tensioner/pulley assembly (12500); rebuilt automatic transmission (14400); hydraulic trans and engine mounts (14000); front brakes, ball joints and shift linkage cable (14400).
New AutoCheck report available on request. Please email with questions or for specific additional photos. Fly in and drive home.
The van is also listed for sale locally so the eBay ad could be ended at any time.
