1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup Description

For sale is my 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup, known as a VW Caddy in Europe. I bought it 8 yrs ago in Texas with 82,000 miles on it and have been using it as my daily driver pretty much since day one.Overall the body is in amazing shape. Spent its whole life in California and Texas so virtually no rust. currently has 152,000 miles on it. I replaced the stock 1.7 fuel injected gas engine and 4 speed transmission with a 1988 Audi 2.0 liter Bubble Block in 2011 The rebuilt engine has approximately 60k on it now. It was rebuilt by VW Paradise back in 2011., and a Cabby 9A close ratio trans for a MK3 5 speed. It's running CIS and a Corrado cylinder head. Original VW paint, except for the tailgate and bed corners. Duraliner plastic bedliner. The shell is a SnugTop cab high piece. Lots of extra parts in the bed. A/c compressor added and works, heater works. Electric windows added. Lots of work and changes, parts from all types of cars have been used in this thing. Overall solid fun vehicle, runs good, looks great, everything works. Amazing one of a kind car.We call this our 'Frankenstein' truck because over the years I've installed parts from many different VW and Audi models including: Audi 90, VW Cabriolet, GTI, MK1 and Mk3 Jetta, Corrado and Quantum.I've taken this truck to lots of VW shows and events over the years and always had good feedback, even winning Coolest Mk1 at the VW Classic a few years ago. I've got a clean title and the registration is current. The smog cert (for California) is good until mid August. Tires and brakes are good too, no worries there. Wife isn't a fan of the Frankensteinso I need to sell to buy her something else.
