1997 Volkswagen Jetta Description

The Jetta needs work. I am a Mechanical Engineer and have owned the vehicle since 2002. I have done a lot of the work on my own but its gotten to a point where I can't really do it downtown Richmond. It's been really well maintained and looks great on the inside.
Attributes:Manual windows, manual seats. The radio (Pioneer DEH-6400BT) is aftermarket and has bluetooth. It's looks brand new. I've taken it out of the car for now, but snaps right in. Interior is beige/tan.
Issues:I'm not sure if it is in limp mode or if the transmission is slipping. It is really hard to get the car out of the second gear. Reverse works fine. I think it may be a dirty mass airflow sensor. The exterior white strips for the doors are also included, they have come off, all you need is double-sided tape or glue. Currently, I have blue masking tape covering the area in the photos.
