2002 Volkswagen Beetle-New Sport Description

This auction is for a 2002 Volkswagen New-Beetle Sport with a 1.8L I4 DOHC 20V Turbo engine (~113800 miles).
Why I am selling this car: I used to have two vehicles; this one and a huge 2007 RAM 2500 Diesel Pick-up Mega Cab. The truck was great for getting around in winter weather here in northeast Ohio, but navigating parking lots could always be challenging (at least for me). So I would drive the VW when weather permitted. I have since sold the truck for an SUV, and no longer need the VW.
This New-Beetle is in very good shape. No dents, only a few minor body blemishes. It has been inspected by a local mechanic within the past year and found to be mechanically sound (suspension, brakes, engine and transmission). Runs perfect. Some additional features not identified in the eBay description include:
  • Alarm system
  • Heated front seats
  • Original 6-CD changer in trunk (see pictures)
  • Automatic spoilerabove rear window that deploys at ~48 mph, and retracts when you come to a stop
Items that should be know by potential buyers include:
  • The head liner has some very minor staining near the sunroof caused by an instance when the sunroof was left open during a short rain (easily cleaned if desired, but not very noticeable)
  • This vehicle an has electric fuel door release, but the release mechanism is broken (you can lift the fuel door by hand easily though)
  • The vehicle has an electric rear hatch release on the driver door panel and a rear hatch unlock button on the key FOB, but when either is activated the hatch does not automatically lift away so as to clear the latch, and will automatically re-lock if not lifted by hand soon enough (new hydraulicpistons would likely fix this, but I've never felt the need).
