1965 Volkswagen Beetle
1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
1965 VW Beetle. Car runs, drives and stops. Great inexpensive car to restore or drop/lower and customize. Car is complete. Has had floor/toe kick patched w/ metal. Qtr. panels have had work. Need smoothed out. Amateur restoration has been done. Car will need front end rebuild due to wear but is driveable. Has new carpet, running boards. Lights work, dome light does not. Decent chrome. Like new tires. Gauges work, wipers work. No radio. Forward gears work fine, reverse is fine but will 'pop' out of reverse from time to time. All glass is good and most weather stripping has been replaced. Headliner is original and is not perfect but is in tact. Heater is not hooked up, tubes missing. Car is 12 volt system. Clean little car.
This is NOT a 100 point show car. It is NOT perfect by any means. Paint is not perfect but looks good. Car IS a good car and is at that stage to restore/customize or just have fun with. If you don't have a ton of money to get into the hobby but want to, check this one out. It won't break the bank.
No warranties expressed or implied. Car is sold as is, where is.
Deposit is non-refundable.
There is NO RESERVE on the car.
I've described to the best of my knowledge. Email with questions.
It's a '65 Bug, it's not complicated. They are simple small cars that are very popular and fairly easy to work on and find parts for. Thank you for looking and good luck.
A small summary of some questions that were asked.
Title: I have clear Ohio title in my name.
Snow exposure: None since I've owned it (1.5 years) but I got the car from Delaware. Car had been sitting for some time, you could tell by looking.
Floor repair: Mostly under front seats and some where front pass. feet go (toe area). Was fixed some by me some by previous owner(s) with sheet metal. Replacement pans were not purchased, just patched up the floor to make it solid.
Headliner: Headliner is all there with NO rips/holes or tears. It's just soiled/dirty. Worst part is the separate pcs. around the rear window and qtr. windows. Those pcs. are separate from the headliner though. Most VW bugs have that issue.
Muffler: I installed brand new stock muffler with new chrome tail pipes which were like the originals.
I did install a brand new master cylinder as the old one was leaking fluid. Works fine now.
It's a good little car. Thanks for all the interest and questions and continued good luck with the auction.
